Nut-Free Portugal and Spain Top Picks
Hi! Iโm Susie, Founder of Spokin and allergy mama to Natalie, my inspiration to start a food allergy app! My family recently traveled to Spain and Portugal to visit my non-allergy daughter who was studying abroad in Barcelona. We traveled to Lisbon, Portugal first and did a day trip to the beach town of Cascais, then Barcelona and ended in Mallorca. Natalie is allergic to peanuts, cashews and pistachios and we were surprised at how many nuts were on the menus in Lisbon but we managed and shout out to Mallorca for being one of the most allergy-friendly places we have ever been! We are a sweet tooth family so had to try a pasteis de nata in Lisbon at Pasteis de Belem and churros in Barcelona at Xurreria Treblol and special shout out to the Lisbon location of Santini Gelados Artesanais for the best ice cream shop experience of our life! Favorite restaurants were Goia and Neni in Port De Soller in Mallorca -- also a great area to walk around. Sunset watching is a must and highly recommend the Sunset Lounge at the Jumeriah Mallorca Hotel. Follow me on the Spokin app @susie to see my 1,912 reviews and check out my Greece Guide! We visited Athens, Santorini, Rome, and Florence, and I found many safe places to eat while managing a peanut allergy. Gluten-Free Anna Maria Island Guide
Hi! I'm Grace, and I recently went with my mom to Florida! We were visiting my grandma in Bradenton and decided to stay on Anna Maria Island! We both have Celiac, and we were able to find great spots to eat in both places. My favorite place we found was HaleLife Bakery, located in St. Petersburg. They are a dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free bakery. They are also free of most allergens! The staff was so kind and informative. They also have multiple locations! We explored restaurants, shops, ice cream stores, and much more! Another highlight was eating on the water, watching the sunset while at another one of our favorite places, The Waterfront Restaurant. Gluten, Tree Nut and Egg-Free Italy
Hi! Iโm Sarah, and I recently traveled through Italy with my family, visiting Milan, Venice, and Rome. We manage celiac disease along with tree nut and egg allergies, and Italy did not disappoint! We found so many amazing places to eat and had some truly memorable meals along the way. Our favorite was Las Soffitta Renovatio, just a short walk from the Vatican. Their focaccia was so good we kept ordering more. The service was outstanding, and they were fantastic at accommodating us. Our Equal Eats cards were incredibly helpful and made it so much easier to clearly communicate our allergies in Italian. Between the pasta, pizza, gelato, and incredible sightseeing, Italy was such an amazing family tripโand eating well was definitely a highlight! Nut, Milk, Egg, Pumpkin, and Sesame-Free Norway Top Picks
Hi! Iโm Emme, and I recently studied abroad in Bergen, Norway, with trips up to Tromsรธ, Lofoten, Svolvรฆr, and Flรฅm along the way. Even with peanut, tree nut, dairy, egg, sesame, and pumpkin allergies, I found the most delicious meals and went on life-changing excursions. My favorite restaurant was Nyt in Tromsรธ, where I had a reindeer burger; it sounds crazy, but it was actually really good! If you visit, donโt miss No Problem Sportfishing out of Svolvรฆr; I saw orcas, traveled across the fjords, watched the midnight sun stay up until 2 am, and caught massive coalfish and cod. In Bergen, you have to hike the Seven Mountains; itโs a rite of passage. Also take the tram up Mount Flรธyen to meet the very friendly goats!
