Hey y'all, I'm Victoria! I'm a food allergy mom to Adelaide who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts (except almonds, coconuts, and hazelnuts) and wheat. She has gone through wheat OIT and is in a maintenance dose so that is why in this board you will see a smorgasbord of gluten containing and gluten-free places in our travels. We live in Des Moines, IA and have a close family friend who lives up in the Twin Cities that we visit regularly. This was our longest trip up there yet, and we got to eat at some old familiar favorites and explore new places! Our new favorites to visit are Sweet Science Ice Cream and Sift Gluten Free Bakery, but we had to stop by at our favorite donut shop, Yoyo's too. Can you tell we have a sweet tooth? Check out all my reviews at @vkotz on the Spokin app and @theallergymoms on Instagram!
Pittsburgh Allergy-Friendly Travel Itinerary
Hi! I’m Laura and live in Los Angeles, CA. I spent a few days in Pittsburgh visiting my friends without allergies and still had a fun time finding spots where I could eat treats that were safe for celiac and egg-free. My favorite food of all time is ice cream, so Pittsburgh’s ice cream and milkshake options such as Scoops in Bloomfield and The Milkshake Factory definitely made me fit right into this city’s food scene. There were also so many surprising restaurants with gluten-free dedicated fryers, like The Yard. My favorite dish of all was the gluten-free pad kee mao at Noodlehead. All the spots are reviewed on the Spokin app so follow me there and on Instagram @gluttenous to see more of my meal ideas using certified gluten-free products and menu finds!
Nut Free New York City Allergy-Friendly Travel Itinerary
Hi! I’m Amanda, and I’m 22 years old and live in Orlando, Florida. I spent a week in New York (mainly 181st street-lower Manhattan, upper Manhattan and Brooklyn) to visit my family this summer and found so many amazing spots that were either allergy-friendly or able to accommodate my severe peanut and tree nut allergies. Some of my favorite stops include A La Mode Ice Cream Shop, a Spokin Verified ice cream shop, and Elegante’s Pastry Shop, a peanut-free traditional Italian pastry shop. If you are looking for allergy-friendly Chinese food, you have to check out Yang Garden. They are able to accommodate the top 8 allergens, so you can safely enjoy yummy Chinese food with food allergies! I reviewed all my spots from the trips on the Spokin app! New York City Allergy-Friendly Travel Itinerary
Hello! My name is Natalie Hultquist and I’m 17 years old. I live in Chicago, Illinois and I have severe allergies to peanuts and most tree nuts. I’m a rising senior in high school which means that college is top of mind these days. My family and I recently made a quick trip to New York so I could visit a few schools. Our trip only covered 5 meals and we picked a combo of spots from the Spokin app and naturally found some new places too. Of course we also managed to squeeze in some shopping, including a visit to Chelsea Market which was home to my favorite spot of the trip—Filago, for pizza! You can see more of my review on the Spokin app @natalie and follow me on Instagram @nataliehult.

Milwaukee is home to so much more than cheese, beer and brats — although, let's not be silly, when in Rome.... Milwaukee is remarkably fun and manageable, especially with kids. Located close enough to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs to allow for a great day trip, consider making it an easy, no-flight weekend getaway as there is much fun to be had.
