EAT

1. Bodega Taqueria y Tequila

“They have no nuts in house except Nutella. Most tacos can be modified to be dairy-free, as long as you omit the salsa and cheese. I would not recommend the short rib taco, though. It tasted very cinnamon-y and was not good at all. They also use corn tortillas that are dairy-free. It’s a fun place to go and is open super late, so it’s perfect for after a night out!”

2. Nobu Miami

“I had an absolutely AMAZING time at Nobu Miami! Our waiter, Mauricio, asked about allergies when we first sat down, and off the top of his head was able to recommend multiple meals that worked for me/could be adjusted for me. I went with what I knew was safe, and he had my allergens memorized and made sure that I stayed safe and comfortable the entire time! He even replaced the soy sauce on our table with tamari as soon as he knew I couldn’t have wheat. The quality of the food was superb and the atmosphere was incredible. They had multiple vegan wine options and the Prosecco I went with was incredible! I can’t wait to go back.”

8. Mister O1

“Thin crust pizza that is absolutely amazing! We had the Margherita and Luca Star pizzas with no issues (the waitress said they were safe)! They do make dessert pizza with Nutella. Ordered pickup during the pandemic. Their online ordering system is great and easy to use, and it’s super easy to add comments listing your allergies as part of every item you select. They still have no nuts other than the dessert pizza, and I felt safe enough after previously eating here. “

9. BAKAN

“It’s not advertised but everything is gluten-free except for one of the desserts. They only serve homemade blue corn chips and tortillas for all appetizers and dishes! The queso, guacamole, and quesadillas are my favorite. The mango margarita is also huge and delicious!”

10. Coyo Taco

“SO SO GOOD! Had the pollo tacos and guacamole and a cucumber lime aguas frescas. The food was incredible and so beautiful! Can’t wait to eat here again. Picked up during the pandemic and they were awesome. Had the pollo tacos and chips and guac again with no problems. Absolutely love this place!”

11. Farinelli 1937

“I was able to safely eat here with my peanut and tree nut allergies. I made sure to inform my server about my allergies. I ordered the sous vide chicken with rosemary roasted potatoes and caramelized carrots. It was delicious (could eat the potatoes every day and never tire of them)! I have not tried other items on the menu, such as pizzas or salad.”

12. Hutong Miami

“I went here with my family and was extremely nervous considering it’s a new Chinese restaurant. Upon arrival, we were asked if there were any allergies at the table. We were told which dishes to avoid but also that they would make sure that everything be made separately from the rest of the food in the kitchens. We ordered a second set of the lobster dim sum and they told us that it would take a little longer since they are decontaminating everything in the kitchen for our table. Not a problem whatsoever and I graciously thanked our server, Victor, for being so proactive and stating everything in each dish for us throughout the night!”

13. Obba Sushi

“I had a tuna roll and a cucumber avocado roll. I let the waitress know about my nut and shellfish allergies and she noted it on the ticket and they kept me safe! The one downside was that our food took a very long time to come out. We were in a bigger group (9 of us), so for the future I would say to come with a smaller group! Update: first restaurant I’ve eaten at since being diagnosed with new allergens. I ordered online, and their online system made it really easy to leave notes for each item and the order. I listed my major allergens and asked for my dishes (it was a multi-person order) to be packaged separately. Upon receiving our food at the restaurant, my food was both separated and beautifully prepared (the box even contained edible flowers!) I had no reaction and it tasted great!”

14. Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine

“So so good! Had the Cuban sandwich. Only saw pecans on a salad and didn’t see any other nuts on the menu, and shellfish was present but only in a few dishes. Tried to call and explain my allergy when placing the online order for pickup but we didn’t speak enough Spanish to clearly communicate it. Took the chance anyway and was fine and the food was incredible!”

@samsafeeats who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, wheat, vegetable, cherry, and pea allergies

15. SuViche

“The staff was very helpful and reassuring. It’s a Peruvian restaurant with a great Miami vibe, great music, and they put roasted corn as a free appetizer and it’s amazing!”

@amandarodriguez who manages a peanut allergy

16. Apple A Day Cafe

“No frills casual spot with a huge, healthy and allergy-friendly menu. Also has great açaí bowls and breakfast. The quesadillas or chicken wraps on gluten-free tortillas are my favorite.”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

17. Barton G. The Restaurant – Miami Beach

“This has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years! They are phenomenal with managing multiple allergies and are willing to modify dishes to make safe. No nuts go in the fryer, but there is cross contamination from dairy. There are several safe dessert options as well if you only have a nut allergy. Even with my newer dairy allergy, I’m able to eat my favorites excluding dessert!”

@tpgordon who manages peanut, tree nut, and milk allergies

18. Bella Cuba Restaurant

“Informed there are no nuts in the kitchen, and staff knowledgeable about cooking oils. Had the ropa vieja with maduros, as well as a Cuban sandwich without any issues!”

@schmandz who manages tree nut and sesame allergies

19. Byblos Miami

“One of my favorite spots in Miami. No gluten-free marked menu, but the staff is always extremely knowledgeable and can guide you through all of the safe dishes or modifications. The short rib kebab is unreal. The cocktails are also super creative and delicious.”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

20. Chotto Matte Miami

“Omg! So great, only nuts were in the desserts. We probably ordered 18+ dishes and I was able to fully try every one.”

@gabbylevinson who manages peanut, tree nut, and peach allergies

21. Juvia

“Trendy rooftop restaurant with nice views. Asian fusion cuisine which meant most of the appetizers had soy sauce in them but the waitress was knowledgeable and easily helped me navigate the menu. Got this truffle salmon nashi appetizer that was so good we ordered it twice! Most of the entrees were gluten-free as well. Pricey but always a vibe.”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

22. Lilikoi Organic Living

“Drove down to stay in Miami for my birthday weekend and this was a place I got breakfast from and omg, when I tell you it was the best healthiest food ever, I’m not lying. I’m a health freak so when I ate the whole wheat bagel with salmon and sprouts and it tasted GREAT, I was so happy. They take allergies seriously and accommodated for me. Love it here, anyone in South Beach should definitely come here for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach.”

@amandarodriguez who manages a peanut allergy

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

24. NaiYaRa Thai & Sushi Miami

“The best allergy-friendly Thai in Miami. Gluten-free marked menu with plenty of options. I absolutely love the Pad See Ew and the Pad Thai. The coconut soup is also one of the best soups ever. They only use tamari in the whole restaurant, so I always feel more at ease!”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

“Food was delicious. Waitstaff was educated about allergies and helped us navigate the menu safely. Brazilian cheese bread was a nice treat for those of us who are gluten-free. Was nut and sesame-free, too!”

@jackieourman who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, and sesame allergies

26. On Ocean 7 Cafe

“I had the fish tacos. When I let the staff know about my allergy, he assured that they didn’t use any peanuts at all in their kitchen. Also, the food was amazing and right on Ocean Drive, which is hard to beat.”

@dhodson500 who manages a peanut allergy

27. Pizza & Burger by Michael Mina

“Staff immediately upon greeting the table asked if anyone in the party had any dietary restrictions. He then ensured that as each course was sent to the kitchen he would ensure they were made aware of the allergy.”

@mdilo98 who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

28. Pura Vida West Ave

“My go-to quick breakfast or lunch spot. Gluten-free marked menu with a ton of options from toasts to bowls and wraps—all super yummy. My favorites are the egg salad toast (on gluten-free bread) and the spicy tuna bowl. There are tons of locations around Miami with all the same menu!”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

29. Rouge

“Very romantic restaurant, but expensive. Staff are very educated and handle allergies very seriously. In love with this place; I go here every Valentine’s Day”

@amandarodriguez who manages a peanut allergy

30. Yard House

“I always enjoy going to Yard House. Online, they have an allergen and nutritional menu which help me in my food selection. This time I had the Baja fish tacos. However, there are plenty of things that I have had on their menu and I always feel confident going to this restaurant.”

@dhodson500 who manages a peanut allergy

TREAT

1. Bunnie Cakes

“They have Cupcake Wars-winning cupcakes. Everything is vegan. Some things are gluten-free. Most things are soy-free. I got to tree my first real milkshake there and it is delicious. They also have donuts, which are amazing. They have a large selection on cupcakes as well as regular cakes. Everything about it is amazing!”

@katyg719 who manages tree nut allergies

2. The Chocolate Chip Bakery

“This place is a gem! Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and refined sugar-free, yet everything is so delicious you wouldn’t even know. Also, their lattes are some of the best as well. I love the cafe con leche donut and the vegan sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich. A must visit in Miami for a quick breakfast or lunch.”

@passthetreats who manages a wheat allergy

3. Salt & Straw

“We have been wanting to try this chain for a while and had success yesterday even with our dairy and nut allergies. The staff was helpful and informed. There was a booklist listing all ingredients and allergens and multiple options for my son. We opted to buy a pint for him to eat from but the staff offered to use a clean scoop and open a new pint as well.”

@aaps who manages peanut, tree nut, and milk allergies

4. AUBI & RAMSA

“SO AMAZING. It’s a 21+ alcoholic ice cream parlor in the Design District! Every serving of ice cream comes individually packed, and the menu indicates nuts extremely clearly (with asterisks and also a large and easy to see “contains nuts” warning). Because everything is packaged the way it is there is no cross contamination concerns, which was amazing, AND they had multiple vegan sorbets! I had the Strawberries and Rosé Sorbet which was vegan and nut-free and it was amazing (and also 4.9% alcohol—so equivalent to one drink). My peanut and tree nut-allergic friend had the Pina Colada rum ice cream—we were able to share (yay shared allergies!) and I can promise that hers was also amazing! Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in Miami!”

@samsafeeats who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, wheat, vegetable, cherry, and pea allergies

5. The Frieze Ice Cream Factory

“They have 16 non-dairy flavors available. Some flavors do contain peanuts and coconut, but they are willing to clean a scooper to make sure there is no cross contamination. The chocolate is to die for and it’s not made with any milk substitute which is great for those sensitive to soy, etc.”

@tpgordon who manages peanut, tree nut, and milk allergies

6. Morelia Gourmet Paletas

“Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to our allergies. They only have 2 flavors that contain nuts and several dairy-free options. They got the ice cream bars from the freezer to prevent any cross contamination.”

@gmca who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, and seed allergies

7. Dora’s Bakery and Bistro

“Fully gluten-free bakery with the best options. Must order the chicken tenders and dessert.”

@girlwnogluten who manages celiac and tree nut, fish, shellfish, sesame, carrot, kiwi, and meat allergies

STAY

1. Soho Beach House

“Every time I ask for anything gluten-free, they ask “is it an allergy or a preference?” And with the allergy comment, they are very good at preventing cross contamination and using fresh and clean everything. All the locations have the same protocol and are fantastic!”

@drizzlekitchen who manages celiac

2. 1 Hotel South Beach

“Recently spent the weekend here and ate several meals all over the hotel at their various restaurants. Each place had educated staff and the food was delicious! When we checked in they asked us if we wanted to add anything into our profile, including preferences or ALLERGIES!”

5. Setai Ocean Front

“Love the Setai! They were willing to bring fresh fish from the hotel restaurant to be cooked at the pool grill so that my daughter would have different options throughout the week (the kids’ menu has a lot of options with gluten, so I was nervous she’d have to eat the same thing all week). We’ve visited this property numerous times with no issues!”
