Mathallen Oslo
“There are so many vendors here! All of the menus had allergens listed in both Norwegian and English. There were some spots that had dishes with nuts so I stayed away from those. The chefs were super helpful and made me feel confident eating there. I safely had the fish and chips as well as a Norwegian hard cider. Everything was delish!”

HIMKOK Storgata Destilleri
“This is such a cute, vibey place to go. We only went to the upstairs bar because downstairs was fully booked so I can’t speak to the curated cocktails that they make down there. However, upstairs there were good cocktails and some drafts that were safe for me to have! Specifically I had the Oslo Mule which is made with aquavit instead of vodka in a traditional mule It was soooo good! I also loved that there were not bowls of nuts at the bar or on individual tables which can sometimes be the case at places like this. I definitely recommend!”

Jul i Vinterland
“This is the whole christmas market in Oslo, but specifically we went to the “Viggo’s Kiempegode Smultringer” stand where they sell a Norwegian classic—smultringer. The man at the booth said that there were no nuts and not even traces of nuts! They were delicious and definitely recommend this as a safe option out of the vendors at Vinterland.”

Café Cathedral
“This was fantastic! I’m not normally one to get pasta at restaurants but I am trying to get out of my comfort zone so I got the lasagna. There was an allergen key on the menu and it listed cashews and almonds. The cashews were only in a dessert so I felt especially confident eating. The waiter reassured me that I would be set. It came with focaccia on the side but I didn’t eat it as I normally avoid bread at restaurants. The lasagna and the spritz were delicious!”

Posthallen Drinkhub
“This is a really cool spot for getting drinks! There are a bunch of different bars within this space, kind of food court style but instead for drinks! We only went here for drinks so I can’t speak to the food, but there were allergens highlighted on cocktails and drinks when present. The food menu did have allergens noted but again I didn’t order anything here to eat. I love Aperol spritzes so I do try to look if there are any cocktails with nut liquors incase of cross contamination with the measuring equipment. Overall a chic spot for some good drinks right in the heart of Oslo!”

Fiskeriet Bjørvika
“This place had such an amazing vibe! I believe there are a few locations in Oslo but we went to the one by the Munch Museum. My boyfriend and I both had the fish and chips and it was deeeeelish! The server made note of my allergies and even confirmed with me that the kitchen was extra careful when making my food. Another great experience in Oslo. A plus was the delicious Norwegian hard cider that they had on the menu.”

Café Oliven
“We stopped in here for some quick drinks and food! I got a burger with no bun and it was very good. The fries were some of the best! The allergen key highlights specific nuts if present, but the one thing to note is if the dish is a nut itself (example: roasted almonds) it won’t be noted. Overall a good experience!”

Kranen bar
Location: Oslo, Norway
“This is the rooftop cocktail bar at the Munch museum! The menu indicates that you should tell your server if you have any allergies which you should because some of the garnishes include nuts!!! I got an aperol spritz and my boyfriend got a whiskey sour but they made a note for his to be a nut free garnish as well. The staff was very friendly and this was such a cool experience after seeing all of the beautiful art in the museum. I did not eat any of the food here as we only came for drinks.”

KOK Oslo Sauna
Location: Aker Brygge, Oslo, Norway
“This is a MUST-DO when in Oslo! The sauna is right on the fjord so you do your cold plunge in it which was such a cool experience. There is no food involved in this activity although you can bring your own alcohol and theoretically food but no one typically eats while doing a sauna. The saunas were very clean as well.”
