Ristorante Marino dal 1939

1. Ristorante Marino dal 1939

“This was a great restaurant! We have had trouble so far finding a place to eat here in Milan. They were completely understanding and told us we would be perfectly fine. We enjoyed Cacio e Pepe and the ravioli! Great restaurant and great staff!”

2. Trattoria Torre di Pisa

“This place was so awesome. It definitely was more of the authentic Italian mean vibes but of course in a nice way. When I asked about my allergies and if I could have the steak all he said was—”can you have oil? Can you have salt? And the meat?” And I said yes to all and he said I will be fine. Everything was good! Sometimes I wonder why all restaurants can’t be like that! Everything was so simple. He then went on to correct my pronunciation of grazie. It was so fun!!”

3. Pizzeria da Giuliano

“Had slices of their regular pizza (just cheese and sauce), and it was amazing! Staff said they did not use any nuts and seemed very educated.”

Ratanà

4. Ratanà

“Waiters spoke great English, were very helpful with our allergies and made the experience A+. Don’t miss the raspberry bruschetta, chicken or the popcorn dessert!”

Sushi&Sound - Ristorante Sushi

5. Sushi&Sound – Ristorante Sushi

“Sushi&Sound was so amazing it was some of the best salmon I have ever tasted! They really put so much care into my meal and took my food allergies very seriously. I got the sashimi and an adapted roll. The whole restaurant is gluten-free which is why I went in the first place since I knew they would have gluten-free soy sauce. It was so amazing I want to go back! I also had the edamame.”

6. LaDispenseria Grill&Wine

“They were great with my allergies here! Used my Equal Eats card and felt comfortable with their allergy precautions. I ordered salmon with grilled vegetables!”

Osteria Conchetta

7. Osteria Conchetta

“When I studied abroad in Milan, this restaurant was right by my apartment and once we discovered it, it became a frequent choice for a nicer meal out. I had several different things, but every time I got the Risotto Riserva which was prepared in a flaming Grana Padano wheel! Everything I tried here was excellent!”

8. Gloria Osteria Milano

“I had a safe experience at this restaurant, but did have to double check many more times that my food would be prepared safely because of the trickier language barrier—despite using my translation card. I recommend it because it was a lovely spot and I was able to have a safe meal, but definitely make sure to communicate and make sure you bring a translator card to be extra careful if you don’t speak Italian.”

9. Peck

“Great place to buy high-quality ingredients. They also have a restaurant called Piccolo Peck that serves amazing dishes. I went for the Carpaccio with Parmigiano Reggiano, simple yet delicious. Went there twice and would 100% go back. 10/10”

STK Milan

10. STK Milan

“Menu had allergens listed which I always love, started out with some amazing tuna tartare that was nut and dairy-free. For my main course I ordered a steak which I usually never order because majority of the time restaurants use butter. Although butter is also used here, I asked for no butter and they were able to accommodate, I was warned of cross-contamination but cross-contamination is never an issue for me.”

Rossopomodoro

11. Rossopomodoro

“I’ve visited Rossopomodoro locations in many cities and they always make me feel comfortable with my peanut and tree nut allergies! Milan was great and knew what pizza options would work for me!”

Spontini

12. Spontini

“Literally the best pizza ever. So fluffy and incredible. Came here every day for lunch! No nuts on site.”

Maio Restaurant

13. Maio Restaurant

“Great risotto! The view of the Duomo is beautiful.”

Hard Rock Cafe Milan

14. Hard Rock Cafe Milan

“I had a really great experience here. The staff was helpful and I spoke to the manager on duty, Francesco, who was really helpful walking me through my questions and which menu items would be best. Since their kitchen is nut-free, but they can’t guarantee no cross-contamination at other producers, I avoided burgers, which had buns made offsite. I ordered the fajitas and steak over multiple visits because they would be safe since the kitchen is nut-free. The staff was always happy to relay my request for the kitchen to prepare my food separately and overall it was a really good experience and made me feel very comfortable eating in a new city.”

Crazy Pizza Milan

15. Crazy Pizza Milan

“Heard about this restaurant on TikTok and wanted to give it a try while I was in Milan. They are famous for their ‘dough’ spinning but it only happens at night and we came for lunch. I would like to note that the performance of the dough spinning is actually a piece of cloth. We ordered the focaccia bread and I got the salami and gorgonzola but removed the gorgonzola, of course. It was a decent pizza, definitely overpriced and overhyped, but their menu had allergens listed which was helpful.”

Capatoast - Milano Bicocca

16. Capatoast – Milano Bicocca

“I asked the staff to pay attention to my allergies, particularly to the nuts since cross-contamination in this past month has been a problem for me. They were so nice and told me that they would have paid attention to cross-contamination. They were so nice that they told me that the only cross-contamination that could be possible that day would be with sesame and pumpkin seeds that they have already used. I felt safe in this place and I felt well after eating my food.”

17. ALDENTE Pastabar – Cordusio

“I was worried about finding restaurants with pasta in Milan without shellfish that would be safe, and finding this one was a nice relief. I had gnocchi, and the staff were glad to answer questions and they did not have shellfish at this location.”

@rocio, who manages shellfish allergies

18. Tenoha Milano

“So so delicious! An amazing authentic and high-end Japanese dining experience. The food is delicious! All allergens are clearly listed on the menu with a numbering system. They make it very easy to find something safe to eat. The servers speak multiple languages and are accommodating. Aside from the restaurant—there is a concept store attached that is so so cool! Love it here.”

La Gioia San Marco

19. La Gioia San Marco

“OUTSTANDING service at this spot. I gave them my allergy translation card and they could not have been more understanding. They went above and beyond with being careful and my friends were even impressed. They came and gave me fresh silverware in case the ones on the table had touched anything and they brushed off our table between courses to make sure there were no allergens near me. The main meal was delicious and they even brought safe fruit for dessert after I couldn’t order the one that my friends were having (such a nice touch). Couldn’t recommend this place more.”

@catherinewalker, who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

20. I Sapori della Pasta

“This was my favorite place we got pasta in Milan. It was freshly made, and the staff were very kind and helpful. They didn’t sell shellfish, and the pasta was delicious. I had ravioli and tiramisu.”
