Lake Compounce
Location: Bristol, Connecticut
“Lake Compounce has a bunch of eateries in their park. This review is specifically for The Potato Patch. I spoke with a staff member about my daughter’s allergies and she was so kind and pleasant. She told me there was absolutely NO NUTS in their kitchen. They even have a separate fryer for the french fries. She was more than happy to bring out packaging for me to review. They use Tyson chicken fingers and they MAKE THEIR OWN FRENCH FRIES!! They just cut potatoes and fry them in canola oil, nothing else! I was super happy with this eatery and will definitely stop back there the next time we visit the park.”

GEORGIA

Great Wolf Lodge
Location: LaGrange, Georgia
“The head chef was amazing! I wish I could remember his name because he remembered our daughter’s name and said hi to her every time we passed him in the lodge. He prepared a safe hamburger (no bun), hotdog (no bun) and grilled chicken strips along with French fries. All top 8-free, as they used rice oil for frying and designated fryers to avoid cross-contamination. Such a great experience for our family to enjoy a relaxing getaway and feel confident that our daughter had safe meal options.”

MAINE

Three Dollar Deweys
Location: Portland, Maine
“My toddler enjoyed the chicken tenders and sweet potato tots. My husband emailed the restaurant before we dined and the general manager emailed back on the same day after talking to the chef. When we ordered, the chef came out to confirm his allergens and the meal. I eat dairy-free, and appreciated the menu also had a whole vegan selection. Outdoor dining space, high chairs, and lidded cups made it extra kid-friendly!”

PENNSYLVANIA

Pizza Perfect
Location: Shavertown, Pennsylvania
“Incredible Sicilian pizza! It has a deliciously crispy bottom and crust. My family has relatives in Pennsylvania so every time we make a trip out to see them we make sure to stop by Pizza Perfect for a few pies to bring home! They use refined peanut oil to cook their food. I am Class V allergic to peanuts and have eaten both their pizza and chicken fingers and fries numerous times with absolutely no issue. My relatives say Spare Time Pizza in Dallas, PA, just a town over, has the same recipe for pizza apparently. That place is next to Back Mountain Bowl, a bowling alley. I haven’t tried it, and they don’t say on their menu if they use peanut oil, but you could maybe try them instead if you’re worried about it.”

TEXAS

Picnik
Location: Austin, Texas
“Picnik has an entirely gluten-free kitchen with limited nuts and soy! There is a very detailed allergen list online and the staff is very educated and helpful when it comes to food allergies! We started with the chicken tenders as an appetizer and I had the Picnik melt for my entrée. It was all so good and hard to believe that the entire place is gluten-free!”
