2. Hattie B’s Hot Chicken

4. Greenery Co.

Location: Nashville

“Gluten-free and nut-free build your own salad at Greenery Co. This place is great with allergies, as they use new utensils and bowls to limit cross-contamination. I get my tossed only just to limit cross-contamination. They also have a lot of great gluten-free options, like breaded chicken that is gluten-free! You can make your own bowl or choose one of the pre-made selections. They do have cashews in one of the dressings, but with how they deal with allergies, I feel safe eating here.”

@jtchambers222 who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, and pea allergies

5. Sunflower Cafe

Location: Nashville

“We have been to the Sunflower Cafe twice now and were beyond pleased both times! This is a vegetarian restaurant with many vegan and gluten-free options. The staff was GREAT to communicate with us which items were safe and I felt very confident with their protocols to keep items separate. With everything being made in house, they were able to give the ingredients of the items in full detail so we felt very safe and comfortable eating there. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS! They have a variety of tasty and fresh items and were so very kind! It is definitely worth the try!”

7. CREMA

Location: Nashville

“The staff at Crema takes food allergies very seriously. This cafe is also a gem. I usually get their avocado toast and the coffee is amazing. They list out the top 8 allergens in their foods and will also switch out the steamer if you have a nut allergy to ensure no cross-contact with almond milk residue. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m in Nashville.”

@allergy_amulet_abi who manages peanut, tree nut, and shellfish allergies

8. Etch

Location: Nashville

“I called a few days before and spoke to a manager about my allergies. She recommended several dishes that were appropriate for my allergies. I also added a note to my reservation about my allergies. They do prepare foods with major allergens in their kitchen, but are very allergy-knowledgeable and do what they can to prevent cross-contamination. When I arrived, my server was already aware of all of my allergies and knew (in detail) what my meal options were. I had a wonderful meal with no reactions and everyone was knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely be back!”

@timeforcoffee who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, milk, fish, shellfish, wheat, onion, and fruit allergies

9. Church and Union Nashville

Location: Nashville

“My experience at Church and Union was wonderful! I went ahead and listed my allergies on the OpenTable reservation beforehand, and our waitress mentioned it immediately when we were seated. She discussed my allergies with the chef and came back with recommendations/they were willing to modify any menu item for me. It was so refreshing to go to a restaurant without feeling like a burden to the waitstaff! She assured me that they were taking protocols to ensure that there was no cross-contact before I even brought it up. Having a dairy allergy, I feel like I end up with a bland meat and steamed veggies 9 times out of 10, but this meal was delicious!”

@spoe who manages tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

10. Taco Mamacita

Location: Nashville

“They have a vegan menu and gluten-free items. Food was great and there were so many options for my egg and dairy-allergic toddler!”

12. Blue Sushi Sake Grill

Location: Nashville

“This place is great for sushi for people with gluten and nut allergies! This place is a go-to for people with allergies, as they have a separate gluten-free menu. They also asked about allergies, and asked if it was an ingestion or cross-contamination allergy. Excited to come back here! We got the rainbow roll, Philadelphia roll, California roll, and edamame.”

14. Joyland Restaurant

Location: Nashville

“This place has the best gluten-free fast food I have had anywhere! They don’t fry in peanut oil. They have gluten-free buns, gluten-free fried chicken on a stick, gluten-free chicken sandwiches, and gluten-free fries. In addition, they have soft serve that can be served in a cup or in a gluten-free cone! There are some shakes that have peanut butter, so I would stick with the soft serve if worried about cross-contamination.”

16. White Limozeen

Location: Nashville

“This place is AWESOME! All Dolly Parton-themed and one of the coolest rooftops ever! They brought me separate bread because they weren’t sure whether or not other bread had nuts in/near it. Very accommodating. Super hard to get a reservation so book in advance. If you are ever in Nashville, this is a MUST (even if it’s just for drinks and not a meal)!”

@brookeblumberg who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

17. Sun & Fork

Location: Nashville

“Love Sun and Fork. If you tell them you have an allergy, they whip out a chart that shows all top 8 allergens present in a menu item so they can tell you right there. They mark your allergy on the ticket and your food comes out with a stick that says “ALLERGY” on it so you know that the ticket has been read. Great place.”

@bluerecchair who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, and buckwheat allergies

18. Midtown Cafe

Location: Nashville

“I had a wonderful experience at Midtown Café! When I told our waitress about my allergies, she was extremely helpful and discussed my best options with the chef. She ended up suggesting that I make my own meal with a choice of protein, veggie, and carb. I chose salmon and told her to surprise me with the rest (I am not picky as long as the food won’t kill me). She brought out a delicious plated meal. She was even careful to the point where she suggested to skip certain items due to there being a language barrier with the chef in that area. She wanted to ensure that there was zero risk for me. I would highly recommend!”

@spoe who manages peanut, tree nut, and milk allergies

19. Butcher & Bee

Location: Nashville

“Gluten-free and nut-free flat out amazing food. This restaurant has some of the best tasting and most unique flavors I have had in Nashville, combining Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Southern all in one. While they have nuts/gluten on the menu, they are FANTASTIC with allergies, as that’s what the server asks as soon as they come to your table. The menu rotates every night, but you have to get the whipped feta, the avocado crispy rice, and the bacon wrapped dates. Overall, unbelievable meal.”

@jtchambers222 who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, and pea allergies

20. CoreLife Eatery

“Menu was so easy to read because it is mostly whole foods and the sauces had every ingredient listed, with major allergens highlighted. Very delicious and we will be back!”

@emmymusic17 who manages milk, egg, and soy allergies

21. Redheaded Stranger

24. Two Hands

Location: Nashville

“Two Hands is the best new restaurant on the Nashville scene! They had every dish on the menu marked whether it was dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, or contained nuts. Even when I had a question on a particular item (whether or not the vegan chocolate had any nuts in it), our waiter went back and checked and informed me that he checked with the chef that it was safe. Everything listed was gluten-free and nut-free: jalapeño fritters, Aperol cured salmon, market fish, brussels sprouts, pavlova, and chocolate gelato. The highlights were the fritters, the market fish (trout from nearby Bucksnort), and the pavlova. It feels so nice to eat and feel safe!”

@jtchambers222 who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, and pea allergies

25. Hearts

Location: Nashville

“Gluten-free and nut-free brunch! Earlier this week, we visited the 12 South location, and it was fantastic! For many of the dishes, you are able to swap the bread with hash browns (which I might like even better!). Their coffee and matcha was fantastic, and I didn’t see many nuts on the menu. The staff was great with allergies, as well. You have to come check this out!”

TREAT

1. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Location: Nashville

“Amazing ice cream. The best part is that they will open a brand new tub of ice cream from the back for people with allergies (and use clean scooper of course). Highly recommend!”

@brookeblumberg who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

2. Five Daughters Bakery 12th South

Location: Nashville

“They have vegan donuts so it was great that my egg and dairy-allergic toddler could have delicious donuts with us and his big sister! The vegan items are on their own tray and if you tell them you have an allergy, they will instinctively put them in a different box from the others. My son is ok with cross-contamination so sharing the same case was ok for us.”

@jackiengai who manages tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

3. Bubble Love

Location: Nashville

“Plenty of vegan options and only nuts they use are almonds.”

@the1bre who manages a peanut allergy

4. KOKOS Ice Cream Scoop Shop OneC1TY

Location: Nashville

“Vegan ice cream shop that doesn’t use any nuts outright, but they did say the cookies for their cookies and cream flavor may be produced in a facility with peanuts, so we avoided that flavor!”

@the1bre who manages a peanut allergy

5. The Baked Bear

Location: Nashville

“WOW. Make your own ice cream sandwiches. They have nuts there so take caution when ordering. The employees change their gloves and got me everything from the back. Ice cream sandwich was DELISH!!”

@brookeblumberg who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

6. Cotton & Snow

Location: Nashville

“I wasn’t initially going to get anything because I didn’t have all of the ingredients to their syrups and just felt really uncomfortable with it being a little kiosk shop in a food hall, but the staff members there went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. She said that they do have natural and artificial flavors in them, but that there should be none of my actual allergens in them. They obviously gave a disclaimer saying they couldn’t guarantee anything (the usual for a food allergy person). However, I did ask that they wash their hands thoroughly. They did this without hesitation and put fresh gloves on too. They also didn’t let my ice bowl touch the counter and were careful when handing it to me. The flavors I tried were coffee and then pink lemonade. I do recommend going at a non-busy time as the crowd factor does play a card in comfortability.”

@smuldowney who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, soy, wheat, sesame, vegetable, fruit, oat, and legume allergies

7. NoBaked Cookie Dough Nashville

Location: Nashville

“This place is really good with allergies because obviously there isn’t any eggs in the cookie dough, I think all the options are dairy-free, and there are 2 peanut-free options. I’m not sure about soy but if you’re allergic to soy, then that’s something you need to ask about.”

@cmullen who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, soy, shrimp, vegetable, fruit, and beef allergies

9. Bubble Love

Location: Nashville

“Plenty of vegan options and only nuts they use are almonds.”

@the1bre who manages a peanut allergy

10. Retro Sno

Location: Nashville

“Gluten-free and nut-free stuffed shaved Ice. If you are looking to cool down this summer, go find this food truck that pops up all over Nashville! They have great flavors, but make sure you get it stuffed (this means they put a scoop of ice cream in the middle). It’s all fantastic!”

@jtchambers222 who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, and pea allergies

11. Wanna Spoon Cereal Bar

Location: Nashville

“I visited Wanna Spoon this weekend when on a girls trip in Nashville. Being the only one in the group with a vast range of allergies it can make you feel like a burden trying to find a safe place to eat! The amazing thing about Wanna Spoon Cereal Bar is that there were options for everyone! Wanna Spoon had dairy/peanut/tree nut labels on everything! From the menu to the dispensers for the cereal and eat milk was individually labeled so you knew it was safe! It helped me to feel safe and not at all anxious while eating my Cinnamon Toast Crunch with oat milk!”

@emhou16 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, soy, strawberry, grain, legume, pasta, latex, and more allergies

12. The Tennessee Cobbler Company

Location: Nashville

“Tennessee Hot Honey Apple Cobbler was incredible, and was gluten and nut-free! They have around three rotating gluten-free cobblers, and the only nuts I saw in the menu were pecans (in only one cobbler). This is a must try! Great portions and great flavor.”
