EAT

1. Skipper Restaurant and Chowder House

Location: Yarmouth

“My daughter has peanut and tree nut allergies. This restaurant was very accommodating. She ordered chicken tenders with French fries. A separate server brought her food out and he was wearing gloves. She felt very safe. We also dined with a friend who is allergic to fillet fish (not shellfish). They confidently made her a lobster roll that was safe for her to eat and she said it was delicious. We would definitely go back!”

3. 110 Grill – Plymouth

Location: Plymouth

“Our favorite food allergy-friendly restaurant! One place we feel 100% confident eating out at with my own and our daughter’s multiple food allergies. They ask as soon as you sit down if there are any food allergies and let you know that they make everything from scratch, so almost anything can be modified! Food comes out with an allergen marked plate separate from all other orders. 10/10 recommend!”

8. Bluefins Sushi & Sake Bar

Location: Chatham

“This is one of my favorite restaurants because of the attention to detail with making sure everything is allergy safe. I love ordering the veggie sushi rolls as well as hot food like fresh teriyaki fish with veggies and rice. All of the food is incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. The items on the menu can be accommodated based on allergies, and the chefs are always very careful when prepping the food. Everything can be made in a dedicated prep area to avoid cross contamination too. I’ve even ordered takeout from here and the allergens were all marked on my order to keep my food safe and separate. They have a second location on the Cape in Falmouth as well!”

“Not a ton of safe food options here usually but sometimes they have a food truck. The food truck they had when I was there last had safe options! They have a few different types of wine, sangria + frose. Frose is dairy and nut-free! Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area—it’s all outside and the tables and landscape are so beautiful. They even have games like giant jenga.”

12. twenty-eight Atlantic

Location: Harwich

“This was such a special night! One of the first times I have EVER felt completely comfortable eating out without question! We talked to the chef weeks beforehand to plan out our dinner to make sure it was safe for our allergens. Both my mom and brother have allergies, so we were all prepared similar meals. The restaurant’s menu is, in general, tailored to be super flexible and accommodating to anyone with food allergies. Our server was so wonderful and understanding and made us all feel very comfortable. They even went above and beyond to printing out special personalized menus for us with the planned out safe food and our names specially labeled. We talked to the chef when the food came out, and also spoke with the bakery chef who explained the bread ingredients to us. I ordered a pan seared salmon with potatoes, green beans, and lump crab. I also ordered a citrus mocktail, which was super fun and tasty! Everything was cooked very well and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and the hotel which it is a part of because of the attention to detail and understanding everywhere.”

17. Hangar B Eatery

Location: Chatham

“This is a nut-free kitchen but they do purchase almond croissants from an outside bakery. They are very clean and I highly recommend it. It is on at a privately owned airstrip but it is not that loud. When I went there, it was a long wait, so get here early.”

@ohio manages peanut, tree nut, and soy allergies

18. Mom & Pops Burgers

Location: Chatham

“Prior to our visit, I sent a message inquiring about items that would be safe for my daughter. They responded immediately, asking for my phone number so the chef could call me. That he did. And he spent a good 20 minutes talking through every menu item, reading me warning statements from labels, and explaining ways he could modify his typical preparation to make items safe for her. When we dined there, the staff knew exactly how to handle our order and the chef came out of the kitchen to say hello and thank me for being so diligent ahead of our visit…My daughter had a BLAST eating her meal with the rest of us.”

@stephie728 manages peanut, tree nut, and egg allergies

@msmith228 who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, and legume allergies

21. The Blended Berry

Location: Bourne

“I have mixed feelings about the Blended Berry in terms of allergies. I should start by saying I’ve never had a problem eating at either of their locations. They have peanut-free blenders and they use clean utensils and they even took toppings from the back for me (at the Falmouth location so assuming they’d do it in Buzzard’s Bay too) to reduce the risk of cross contamination. However, I did not appreciate that when I went to pick up my bowl that I had ordered online, I told them my name and they immediately said “oh the one with an allergy” in a tone that made me feel like a giant inconvenience. Overall, I haven’t had an allergic reaction and their bowls are really good so I will likely go back because I know they can and will accommodate, just hope they find some more friendly staff members.”

@carlinhanley who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, shrimp, and sesame allergies

@swolfe manages celiac and peanut and tree nut allergies

23. The Seal & Pub Cafe

Location: Harwich

“Vacationing for the first time in MA, and decided on a whim to stop at this cafe. Super welcoming from the get-go and was willing to check with staff in the kitchen. They were able to pan fry the burgers in a separate pan to avoid onion and garlic (low fodmap). Then she was able to adapt the sliders and turn the meal into burger patties on salad. She even came and checked with me before putting any veggies on the salad. I crumbled the burgers and topped with olive oil and vinegar. Yummy and safe for the Fourth of July! Definitely recommend coming.”

@felber6868 who manages peanut and quinoa allergies

@msmith228 who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, and legume allergies

27. Sesuit Harbor Cafe

Location: Dennis

“We had a wonderful meal here! We checked in first by email and received a quick and helpful response from the manager, letting us know that they do not fry in peanut oil and the only nuts on the menu are for PB&J. This was all confirmed when we ordered, and our fish and chips order was flagged as as a nut allergy. We will definitely be back when we return to the Cape!”

@jcp who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

28. 10 Yen- Sushi and Cocktails

Location: Orleans

“We were placing a carry out order online and called to find out about their allergen protocols. The woman who answered the phone recommended we speak to the chef. The chef let us know that the station that makes items with dairy is 10′ away from the sushi station and they would ensure there is zero risk of cross contamination if we noted our allergy in the order notes. Delicious sushi!”

TREAT

1. Sweet Izzy

Location: Harwich

“This completely dairy-free ice cream shop is a DREAM! My daughter could not believe that she could order anything she wanted off the menu. They have soft serve and hard ice cream plus will make milkshakes and “Blizzard” type creations. We also ordered an ice cream cake from them and it was insanely good! We were able to customize both layers. They did tell us that the “M&M” type toppings are made by Unreal, which have a cross contamination warning on them, so we opted to avoid those. They had a ton of topping options including SunButter cups, Oreos, fudge, “Crunch” style bars, and sprinkles. So great!”

@amgaetano who manages a milk allergy

2. Sundae School

Location: Harwich

“When you order, mention you have an allergy and they will scoop your ice cream from their totally separate stash of allergy-safe flavors. These bins avoid any cross contamination. Safely ate the chocolate ice cream many times.”

@swolfe who manages celiac and peanut and tree nut allergies

3. Ice Cream Cafe

Location: Orleans

“This ice cream place is one of the best I have ever been regarding allergies. They have an entire allergy section depending on the specific allergy you acquire. My friend has severe allergies to gluten, dairy, nuts, etc. He absolutely loves this place. The staff is so kind and caring with the amount of allergies my siblings and I have. They are very dedicated to making sure we are safe. Their soft serve is delicious as well, which makes everything a lot easier and better. We made sure of no cross contamination with the soft serve and they were very helpful with that order (especially as they are no stranger to food allergies, as they have an entire allergy-free menu of them). Would highly recommend!”

@riyamiglani who manages peanut, tree nut, and shellfish allergies

4. Lewis Brothers Homemade Ice Cream

Location: Provincetown

“So happy that my tree nut-allergic boy was able to have and enjoy ice cream today. Such a rarity when we’re vacationing. They opened up a new ice cream container and used a new scooper to serve him ice cream. Will definitely be going back.”

@mchanax who manages a tree nut allergy

5. Lazy Sundaes

Location: Bourne

“I’m an adult with celiac disease and my son has an egg allergy. They have outstanding allergen protocols, from checking ingredient/allergen list, to using a clean scoop and opening a fresh container. They also have gluten-free cones. I was told the owner has a daughter with celiac so they don’t mess around! It was so nice to have hard ice cream and not worry about contamination.”

@cmlemon who manages celiac and an egg allergy

6. Cape Cod Creamery

Location: Yarmouth

“Love this place. This place is great with food allergies too.”

@jlump who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

7. Penguins Ice Cream Igloo

Location: Yarmouth

“This place was awesome! In past years we had stopped here and were disappointed to see they had no dairy-free options (I used to be allergic to dairy). However, we were so impressed to see the variety they had this year. They had dairy-free ice cream, Italian ices, and sorbet, which I decided to get because I still prefer it to “regular” ice cream. They had very clear allergy protocol. They washed their hands and used a fresh, sanitized scooper and a fresh tub. They also had ingredients for all flavors, cones, etc. and were extremely nice and happy to help.”

@mayakonoff who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, and seed allergies

@carlinhanley who manages peanut, tree nut, sesame, milk, and shrimp allergies

10. Chatham Penny Candy Store

Location: Chatham

“They call this an “old-fashioned candy store”! Super small store but lots of pre-wrapped candy options. They have unwrapped things with various tongs/scoops but the pre wrapped candy is below it and easy to grab.”

@carlinhaley who manages peanut, tree nut, sesame, milk, and shrimp allergies
