Tree Nut-Free Hawaii Top Picks

Hi! I’m Emily, and I recently traveled to Hawaii! I found many safe spots to eat while managing tree nut allergies and shared them on the Spokin app—all of my finds are also all featured in this guide. One of my favorites was Off the Hook, where I had Mickey waffles! A fun thing to do if you are in Hawaii is going to Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden. Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera

Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

I loved this restaurant! It’s conveyor belt sushi, and it’s really high quality and delicious. They had a really helpful allergy menu. We asked the staff about nuts to double-check, they said they only have a macadamia dish, but they were sold out of it when I went.

Off the Hook

Location: Kapolei, Hawaii

This is my favorite place to get breakfast at Aulani! I get the Mickey waffles with bacon, and it’s delicious. Disney is really good about using allergy sticks, which is amazing!

Ulu Cafe

Location: Kapolei, Hawaii

So much great food here! I got a poke bowl, french toast, Mickey spam musubi, and more here. The make-your-own poke bowl station does have a nut topping, but they change their gloves and do their best to avoid cross-contamination if you ask!

Mama's Snack Stop

Location: Kapolei, Hawaii

“Great for a quick snack! I got their mozzarella sticks.”

Laniwai Spa

Laniwai Spa

Location: Kapolei, Hawaii

This was my first time ever getting a massage, so I was nervous about nut oil in the massage oils or lotion being a problem. Laniwai was so accommodating, they have a non-scented oil they can use upon request that doesn’t have any nuts in it.

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

Location: Kapolei, Hawaii

“Disney is always very educated about food allergies, and Aulani is no exception. All of their restaurants have nut-free options, even including the buffet (for both dinner and breakfast buffets). The spa is inclusive of those with food allergies and will switch around supplies to accommodate those with food allergies. I would be cautious of which restaurants you choose, however, since some serve more nuts than others.”
