Tree Nut-Free Cape Cod Top Picks

Hi! I’m Lexi and I recently traveled to Cape Cod on vacation with my family! We stayed at a house in Eastham but went all over the Cape! I found many safe places to eat while managing tree nut allergies. One of my favorite places to eat was Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar where my favorite thing to get was a cold lobster roll. If you travel there, a must-do activity is walking the rail trail which goes all along the cape or going to the beachcomber—get there early to avoid a line! Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar

Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar

Location: Eastham, Massachusetts

“While there were some nuts on the menu in the salad section, we had a delicious meal here! I split a cold lobster roll & a side of clam strips. However, do not get the ice cream here. They said they do not recommend anyone with allergies getting the soft serve because if they mess up they pour it back into the machine & based on something with the cones it meant there was cross-contamination. Overall was very confused on their answer so I did not get it. I don’t get hard ice cream because there is so much more of a risk for cross-contamination so I didn’t ask about it there. So while the food is great & safe, the ice cream end of things seems very unsafe.”

Casa del Cabo

“Had an amazing dinner here! When I ordered they did say there was always the chance of cross-contamination but I didn’t see any nuts on the menu and I still felt safe getting food. I had the puerco verde tacos and an oyster. They were both delicious! Our waiter was also very nice. Highly recommend for a nice meal in Eastham!”

Lobster Shanty

Location: Eastham, Massachusetts

“They said there were no nuts in house! I split a warm lobster roll & clam strip platter. So yum!

Chatham Pier Fish Market

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“The perfect waterfront fish market to stop by for food + seeing some seals. I got the clam strip platter. It was perhaps the best seafood I’ve had and it can’t get any fresher since it’s literally right off the boats at the pier. The second time we went for lunch, I got a cold lobster roll and split clam strips. We wanted to get the scallop salad but they said to avoid the salad area which is something I normally do so that wasn’t an inconvenience!”

STARS

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“A five star meal gets a 10/10 from me. I went out of my comfort zone and tried oysters! I also had the Wagyu and it was phenomenal. The waiter noted my allergy but wasn’t the most helpful but I think that’s kind of expected at fancier restaurants sometimes! Overall it was great and perhaps one of the best steaks I’ve eaten.”

Chatham Squire

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“Another Cape Cod must! A casual vibe but good eats & drinks! I shared nachos and got fish & chips. Delicious! I’ve also had the steak frites here and they’re sooo good. The server made sure to specify tree nuts specifically for me which reassured me. Will always go back to the squire!”

Captain’s Table

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“We stopped in for breakfast after a long walk on the rail trail. They definitely had some nuts on the menu but I felt safe. I opted for a breakfast special-the southwestern bowl-and it was very good.”

Beach House Grill

Beach House Grill

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“This was some of the best food ever. I had chowder and fish & chips! Before we ordered anything the server asked if there were any allergies in the party! I felt confident eating here!”

Wild Goose Tavern

Wild Goose Tavern

Location: Chatham, Massachusetts

“I was trying to try a variety of places on the cape! We stopped in for dinner and it was delish! i had a blueberry lemonade cocktail for my drink and opted for a bunless burger with American cheese. I felt super safe eating there but I will say the service was a bit slow so it could be ever so slightly anxiety inducing if you like to double check with your server etc. But 7.5/10 would go again!”

Drinks

Hot Chocolate Sparrow

Hot Chocolate Sparrow

Location: Orleans, Massachusetts

“We stopped in here for a coffee. I definitely would not get any of the baked goods or any food here since they do have quite a bit of nuts across the menu. I got an iced vanilla latte with skim milk and it was good. I mentioned I had an allergy and they made note on the order ticket.”

Three Fins Coffee Roasters

Three Fins Coffee Roasters

Location: Dennis, Massachusetts

“We went here after a yoga class in Dennis and I got an iced vanilla latte with skim & a pink tide which was a lemonade seltzer with raspberry. I said I had an allergy & they made note + didn’t express any concerns. There are nuts in the baked goods & they have almond milk but I still felt (& was) safe getting something to drink! It’s also really cute inside!”

PROOF BAKEHAUS

PROOF BAKEHAUS

Location: Dennis, Massachusetts

“Oh yes! Nut-free bakery & coffee shop in East Dennis that is also gluten and vegan-friendly! Such a find and I wish I could come all the time. I had an iced honey vanilla latte with cold foam and a chocolate croissant. I think this was my first croissant ever? (or at least the first one in like 20 years!) Everything was so good & this is a must stop. There can be a line but it goes so quick and the wait is worth it.”

The Hole In One - Donuts - Coffee - Bakery

The Hole In One – Donuts – Coffee – Bakery

Location: Eastham, Massachusetts

“I did not have any of the baked goods here but, I safely had an iced caramel latte with 2% milk. They did not express any concerns at all. They do have a hazelnut flavored brewed coffee but I think you would still be fine having the vanilla or a regular iced coffee because they are kept separate but still double check as I only had an iced latte here!”

Treats

Ice Cream Cafe

Ice Cream Cafe

Location: Orleans, Massachusetts

“They are so nice here! I got soft serve both times we went and had great experiences. When I said I had an allergy they jumped into action and changed gloves without me having to ask. They also had some dairy-free options (some were pea-protein but clearly labeled). Such great soft serve, great service, and a great experience! I’m pretty sure they have a truck at Nauset Beach as well which I didn’t get to try but definitely should check out and see!”

Poit's Ice Cream

Poit’s Ice Cream

Location: Eastham, Massachusetts

“Any place that has soft serve is a place I want to be! I ordered a small chocolate vanilla twist with no toppings but incase I wanted sprinkles she said that she always keeps a separate clean bin & scoop to use when someone has an allergy! There are nuts in some of the toppings but I wasn’t worried about cross-contamination here. Such a cute place & we will be back! ”
