Ike’s Love & Sandwiches
“This is the fourth Ike’s location that I have been to and it seems that the majority of their menus are consistent across locations. Some will have local sandwiches but all use the same ingredients as others on the menu. To my knowledge there are no nuts in the kitchen; they do have a pesto though so I would check to see what they use for it. I’m not sure about their celiac cross-contamination safety but they do offer gluten-free bread. Overall Ike’s is a very inclusive restaurant, even offering kosher and halal options!”
401K Food and Wine
“This is such a cute place, I loved it. I think the inside is 21+ since it is the bar area but the back is open to all ages and is beautifully decorated. The food is equally as amazing with so many gluten-free options and zero peanuts in the kitchen.”
Twice Baked Gluten-Free Baking Company
“This place is awesome— everything is very clearly labeled. They’re completely peanut and gluten-free. They have dairy, soy, nut-free, and vegan options. we got a lemon bar, an eclair, and a raspberry cupcake. They also have ice cream and baked goods that rotate daily (sourdough, pizza crust, donuts, churros, etc.)”
The Kebab Shop
“Called and confirmed that there were no peanuts in the kitchen— there is also an allergen chart on their website which was helpful. They have a lot of gluten-free and build-your-own options!”
Blue Plate Taco
“This place is in a very touristy area of Santa Monica, right next to the pier. Their tacos are really good compared to others I’ve had and they have a statement at the top of their menu telling customers to please let their server know of any allergies or dietary restrictions. Thanks to Spokin, I already knew they didn’t have peanuts in their restaurant but I told my server just to be safe. He was going to write it down but quickly assured me that there were no peanuts in any of their dishes. In terms of tortillas they offer flour, corn, and lettuce cups!”
The Habit Burger Grill
“I’ve known that Habit has been peanut-free but I asked to double check and they quickly confirmed. Unfortunately they don’t offer gluten-free buns so we opted for lettuce wraps. I think we forgot to press the ‘no lettuce’ option on the kiosk when ordering because the regular amount of lettuce on top of the lettuce wrap made it look like we were eating an entire head of iceberg lettuce— we had to peel back a few layers to actually eat our burgers. Their burgers are not the best tasting but we were just looking for something safe inside the airport while waiting for our delayed flight and it did the trick. The tater tots are good though.”
Lazy Acres Grocery Store
“This place is similar to a Whole Foods or Sprouts. They have a large selection of top 9 allergen-free products. I’ve noticed they carry maybe a couple brands that others don’t and don’t carry some that the others do but overall pretty similar. I didn’t look too closely at their hot bar but their salad bar is peanut-free and during the day they have made to order sushi. Unfortunately their juice bar is not peanut or tree nut-free.”
