Gabby’s Nut-Free New York City Favorites

Hi! I’m Gabby, and I’m so excited to share my favorite New York City spots that have been safe for my allergies to peanuts and tree nuts! For classic NYC food, I love Edward’s to get a steak sandwich. One of my must-go-to restaurants is the Shmnone, and I recommend ordering literally everything. (It’s a seasonal menu that changes weekly). For a girl’s night with your allergy friends, I recommend Nami Nori because it’s completely gluten-free and nut-free. For sightseeing and activities, my favorites include walking on West Side Highway. Follow me on Spokin @gabbylevinson to see all of my allergy-friendly reviews and on Insta @gabbylevinson!

The Greek tribeca

“All time favorite restaurant. My friend group went there to “pre game” going out and let me tell you it was the best experience. Not packed at all, with amazing food, drink, and cute decor. I’ve also been a million times for a solo lunch. Being Greek myself, I’m a pretty tough critic when it comes to Greek food, and yet I’m always impressed by The Greek Tribeca. The waiters are always so friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, but I don’t recall seeing many nuts on the menu to begin with! (I avoid dessert though) ”

“I’m obsessed with this place. Very few nuts on menu, only dessert. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. There was a dj spinning super cool music 10/10 experience best dinner I’ve had in a while. Our waitress, emily, was the absolute best and brought over a round of shots for us. If you can secure a reservation, it’s a must!”

Glaze Teriyaki

“Glaze has no peanuts or tree nuts! I emailed with a member of their team. It’s like cava but for teriyaki bowls. AMAZING. I’m intolerant to gluten and they have gluten free teriyaki sauce. Insanity. I’d recommend ordering in, i don’t like the vibe to eat there in person. If you are allergic to sesame I’m unsure of how you’d fare considering there is tons of sesame but beyond that they’re fantastic and it’s very fresh and delicious! ”

SHMONÉ

SHMONÉ

“This is the best meal I’ve ever had. Shmone is a Michelin star Israeli restaurant with the menu changing nearly every night. The food is incredible, but the chef told us that they cannot completely guarantee cross contamination as it’s an open kitchen concept. While knowing that, as well as the only nuts being in one dessert the night we went, i felt comfortable eating all the food. It’s an incredibly small spot with only 50 seats and i highly recommend sitting at the kitchen bar. Everyone is so kind and the head chef is amazingly talented. ”
