Allergy-Friendly Campus Guide: Smith College

smith

As a Smith alum, I recommend Smith for food allergic students, depending on your allergies and dietary restrictions. Smith’s dining system is more accommodating to food allergies because it is not centralized. Labeling of food ingredients and common allergens is usually correct and staff are always willing to answers your questions!

Caminito Steakhouse

Delicious food, great ambiance, felt very safe eating here. Waiters were more than willing to check about ingredients and kitchen protocol!

India House

Love this restaurant! They take food allergies seriously, and their staff are great at answering questions. Many gluten free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. Their online ordering system allows you to input your allergies.

Jake’s

Owner has a peanut allergy, so peanuts are extremely limited in the kitchen. Gluten free options (bread, oatmeal, etc.). Menu is open to any substitutions due to dietary needs. My allergies were noted on the order slip.

GoBerry

GoBerry is an amazing froyo shop! Even though they have toppings with nuts, all their staff are extremely educated on how to handle nut allergies. If you tell them you have allergies, they will wash their hands, put on gloves, get a cup from the cabinet, and grab your toppings from the back.

Deals + Steals Natural Foods

Carries tons of gluten free products and Enjoy Life products! I always get my allergen-free dry products from here.
