Dairy, Peanut, Tree Nut, and Shellfish-Free South of France Travel Itinerary

Hi! I’m Vivian, I manage dairy, peanut, tree nut, and shellfish allergies and I went Antibes, Cannes, Monaco, and Nice for spring break during my semester abroad. A highlight of my trip was visiting Cannes. My favorite restaurant was Le Plongeoir where I ate a tomato & basil pasta. Follow me on the Spokin app @viviancrabbe and on Instagram @vivian.crabbe.

ANTIBES

Passion Glaces Antibes

Location: Antibes, France

“Sweet treat time!! Something I love about visiting towns in the South of France is all the small dessert kind of shops along the street. This place in Antibes had a variety of gelato flavors but went with the classic mango. The gelato here is probably some of the best I’ve ever had.”

CANNES

O’key Beach

Location: Cannes, France

“Went out for drinks in Cannes and ended up getting some dinner. I, of course, got a burger with no cheese. The staff was attentive to my allergies and made sure I was able to eat stress-free! Perfect laid-back restaurant right along the beach in Cannes and the view was almost as good as the burger!!”

MONACO

Flashman

Location: Monaco, France

“Stopped for dinner in Monte Carlo and got one of my usuals…. a burger. I ordered it with no cheese, the sauce was like your typical burger sauce but honestly tasted so much better. There weren’t many options on the menu I could choose from so I stuck with my safety food, which is a burger. Peanuts are served on request, so I made sure to be careful of that.”

NICE

Garden Café

Location: Nice, France

“Visiting the South of France and stopped at Garden Cafe in Nice! I got the avocado salmon bagel with no cheese and it was amazing. I also got the Sweetie smoothie with oat milk (other milk alternatives available), which was also delicious. They had so many other vegan options available I was so surprised to see all the different vegan options they had.”

Le Plongeoir

Location: Nice, France

“Went to the famous restaurant in Nice, Le Plongeoir. Today was opening day and the server informed us that they had a completely new menu this year. I was so glad to see that they had a vegan menu I was able to get because many of the options included my allergens. I got the linguine pasta and it was one of the best pastas I’ve had from a restaurant. Definitely recommend this restaurant as they are so accommodating and the staff were amazing.”

Dominos

Location: Nice, France

“Ordered in for my last night in Nice and decided to get pizza. I was surprised to see Dominos had dairy-free cheese but was so excited. I ordered from Uber Eats, so I had to request the vegan cheese and list my allergies in the comment box which is always risky and scary but my order came perfectly and it was delicious.”
