EAT

The Silly Axe Cafe

“Completely gluten-free facility. Pretty good variety too… mostly sandwiches, but also chicken strips, fries, soup, desserts, etc. Honestly, the taste is just good, but not great, in my opinion. But the peace of mind knowing I won’t get sick is more than worth it!”

Mesh

“Just had dinner here the other night, and they did a fantastic job. I informed the waiter of my allergies, and the chef made sure to add gluten-free and egg-free pasta without me even requesting it (I didn’t know it came with the dish). Mesh was amazing and delicious, and I’ll definitely be back!”

The Café

“Fantastic atmosphere and great food. I ordered a gluten-free waffle, which was delicious, and I did not get sick! So glad to have found a place where I can eat breakfast on our trip since our hotel does not have a gluten-free menu.”

Big Bad Breakfast

“Ordered the gluten-free French toast with strawberries and bacon. It was very well prepared with a sugar-cinnamon crunch. The bacon was large strips.”

Wild Eggs

“I always feel safe at wild eggs! The waitstaff constantly asks questions and will communicate with the kitchen thoroughly before bringing out my food. I always feel safe here (and I’m allergic to eggs).”

Shalimar Indian Restaurant

“They have plenty of options since a lot of Indian food is naturally gluten free. The waiter told me that the only dishes made with wheat are those made with spinach or naan bread. Just to be on the safe side, I avoided anything else that seemed like it might contain wheat, such as anything battered and fried. I tend to be a little paranoid because there’s been times (at other restaurants) where the staff say something is gluten free, but then double check for me and find out it’s not. I ended up having the tikki masala and didn’t get sick.”

Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill

“I did a burrito bowl with chicken. Need to make sure the staff are clear that you have a food allergy. Not everyone speaks great English so make sure you talk to someone that does. Good for gluten and dairy allergies.”

TREAT

Annie May’s Sweet Cafe

“Annie May’s unbaked pie crusts are a game changer for gluten-free desserts. No one can believe that it is gluten-free and I can eat it too!”

Philly’s Best Frozen Desserts

“Excellent place for a quick dessert! The whole establishment from what I can tell is nut-free.”

North Lime Coffee and Donuts

“Gluten-free donut was incredible! I’ve never even had a normal cake-type donut that good, let alone a gluten-free one. The biggest problem I’ve seen with gluten-free pastries is that they end up dry and crumbly. My donut was super moist! Also, they have a dedicated fryer for their gluten-free donuts and they put the glaze and toppings on them first so there’s no cross-contamination from the regular donuts. So glad I stopped by!”

Louisville Cream
