My favorite review is The Reverie Saigon. It is a super lovely hotel! They were very accommodating and got gluten-free bread for me in the mornings, as well as explain to me what was gluten free on the breakfast menu. Overall great experience!

ALLIE CASTRO

Spokin Username: @alliecastro22

Allergies: Peanut, Tree Nuts

Location: San Francisco, CA

My Best Spokin Find: I think my favorite thing I discovered on the app was so many safe restaurants to go to when I visited New York. I did a lot of research online before going, but Spokin was definitely the most helpful. I found Big Daddy’s Diner, Sofia Pizza Shoppe, Baked Cravings Bakery, and several others. I felt so safe on my trip thanks to Spokin, which is pretty rare for me on a vacation. Another thing I’ve found through Spokin is Straus Family Creamery Ice Cream, which is made in a peanut and tree nut free facility. I found the product on Spokin, but soon found out they sell it at my local grocery store!

My Favorite Review: My favorite review that I’ve done is for a la mode Ice Cream Shoppe.

ALLISON GAETANO

Spokin Username: @amgaetano

Allergies: Milk

Location: Winnetka, IL

My Best Spokin Find: I have a few favorite things! I love following Anita Shastri (@aaps). We are close friends (in real life!), both live in the Chicago area and our 9 year olds both have severe milk allergies, so I know anything she recommends is safe for us! Finding new restaurants is also huge! We are often nervous to dine out and Spokin gives us a ton of confidence to expand our options. I’ve also used the chat to ask people more about their experiences. My third favorite feature is the location search. I use this a ton when planning trips!

My Favorite Review: My favorite review is a tie between Four Seasons Punta Mita and Bartaco!

ANITA SHASTRI

Spokin Username: @aaps

Allergies: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Milk

Location: Chicago, IL

My Best Spokin Find: I have multiple favorite finds on the app including other users who share similar allergens and have introduced us to so many delicious and convenient foods that I was never aware of, but I would have to say that Starry Lane Bakery in San Diego, CA was my favorite find. To learn of an allergy friendly bakery in a city we visit at least once a year where my son could go in and pick out anything to eat was an experience none of us will ever forget. What a gem the bakery is and I cannot thank the users and reviews on the app enough for introducing us to it!

My Favorite Review: My favorite review would have to be my very first review on the app which was for the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman. I posted the review after our first time vacationing outside of the country with our food allergic son. I was so excited and eager to share details and describe what a success the trip had been and to give other users hope!

LINDSAY MEHRTENS-BEDWELL

Spokin Username: @lbedwell

Allergies: Peanuts, Cashew, Pecan, Pistachio, Walnut

Location: Phoenix, AZ

My Best Spokin Find: There’s a unique community with parents, caregivers and sufferers of food allergies. Spokin has united us allowing us to discover new products, share information, discover new places and do so from individuals that are considerably more reliable than someone outside our community. I love that we’re building a trustworthy network that extends even outside the US!

My Favorite Review: My favorite review is Din Tai Fung Pacific Place.

JESSICA PASCHKE

Spokin Username: @punkinmama

Allergies: Cashew, Milk

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

My Best Spokin Find: My favorite thing I discovered on the app was the community. That’s something you don’t just find anywhere and everywhere. Also the ease of searching for things when traveling is amazing. Also, the Ice Cream, Halloween, Easter product guides are great!

My Favorite Review: Picking my favorite review I have written is really tough. But, if I had to pick one, it would be Klavon’s Ice Cream Parlor. Klavon’s is a special place. It’s an old fashioned ice cream shop in the strip district here in Pittsburgh. They are a real part of the community here. They truly support those around them (buying groceries for those on food stamps during the government shutdown is just one example). As soon as you walk in Klavon’s you see a sign asking about food allergies so that they can help you. They keep adding more and more vegan and dairy free options to their menu. And they now sport a great looking Spokin sticker on their front window!!

KARA SCHNEIDER

Spokin Unsername: @kegs1973

Allergies: Milk

Location: Appleton, WI

My Best Spokin Find: My favorite part is twofold- being the first person to write a review of anything (restaurant or product) or finding something/where safe for my daughter.

My Favorite Review: My favorite review is Fur Baby Spa. The most helpful review was Moosejaw Pizza in Wisconsin Dells. The review gave me a great overview and then the actual experience was amazing. I never would have found the place had it not been for the app.
