Edelweiss Biergarten
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
“This was our first time dining at this very authentic German restaurant, but they clearly have “please discuss any allergies with your server” written at the bottom of the menu. The server was very familiar with allergies and said that none of the dishes off the main menu contained nuts. She even checked the oil used in the fryer, which was corn oil. They only have a couple of desserts containing nuts otherwise the menu is nut-free! A great way to escape safely in our own city!”

Luftburg – Kolarik im Prater
Location: Vienna, Austria
“The largest organic restaurant in the world, Luftburg is a beautiful indoor/outdoor Beer Garden with many trees, string lights, and comfy benches and a smoke-free, cool interior. We ordered a medium size Original Kolarik Stelze pork knuckle that was perfect for 3 people, Gurkensalat cucumber salad, gemischter mixed salad, and Griechischer Greek salad. And of course their house beer to wash it all down. It was a lovely meal in a wonderful atmosphere. Allergen codes are written on the menu they can provide an English menu upon request if one is not present at the table and our waiter was kind to check and confirm that no allergens were present in our food. He even chuckled a little bit and said how silly it would be to have nuts in the meat dish this made us feel extra secure!”

Schweizerhaus
Location: Vienna, Austria
“Another enjoyable Beer Garden with indoor/outdoor seating. They serve traditional Austrian food and have a nice selection of wines from the area as well. They also had very nicely spiced sauerkraut and potatoes that came with the meat entrees, like the Wiener Schnitzel. If you dislike the smell of cigarette smoke, I would highly suggest sitting inside, similarly to Luftburg. Also note that the majority of their dessert items contain nuts not peanuts.”
