Italy Peanut and Tree Nut-Free Travel Itinerary

Hi! My name is Allie, I manage peanut and tree nut allergies, and I spent 11 days in Italy for my honeymoon! Some of my favorite restaurants I went to were Braceria All’11 in Florence (we went twice it was so good!) and Midnight Sun Minori. At Midnight Sun Minori, we had the lemon pasta and the owner even sat down, talked, and drank wine with us! In between my allergy-friendly finds, I saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa, swam in the Mediterranean, took a ferry to Positano, and so much more! You can find all of my allergy-friendly reviews on the Spokin app @allieparks22 and follow me on Instagram @allie.parks22!

Day 1

Dinner + Drinks: Pizzería Chicco di Grano

“This was the first restaurant we went to in Italy, so I was naturally skeptical at first. I was so pleased when all the staff spoke English. Everywhere in Italy does a great job labeling their menus for allergens which made me feel so much better. Just got a Margherita pizza here to start. And was safe!”

Dessert: Limon’è

“Nut-free gelato shop in Rome. They only have lemon flavors and they assured me everything would be safe for my allergies. No risk of cross-contamination. And the shop was adorable!”

Sightseeing: Tour of the Colosseum

Sightseeing: Roman Forum

Sightseeing: Exploring the streets of Rome

Day 2

Breakfast: La Licata

“Came here early in the morning after going to the Trevi Fountain. Super cute place just down the road from our Airbnb. Had espresso here safely. However, I chose not to eat since I was worried about cross-contamination with some of the pastries.”

Dinner: Ristorante Due Colonne Di D’Annunzio Angelo

“Had yummy gnocchi with clams. We found this place walking back to our Airbnb from the Spanish steps. All dishes were clearly labeled if they contained allergens.”

Drinks: Bar San Calisto

“Had a glass of wine here! Was happy to see no peanuts on the tables since we saw many restaurants have those out during happy hour.”

Sightseeing: Trevi Fountain

Sightseeing: Tour of the Vatican

Sightseeing: Vespa tour around Rome

Day 3

Dinner: Bracaeria All’11

“This place was so delicious we went twice. The owner spoke perfect English and made me feel very safe. I can’t recall seeing any nuts on the menu. Had some great pasta dishes and limoncello!”

Sightseeing: Exploring the streets of Florence

Sightseeing: Ponte Vecchio

Day 4

Lunch: Gusta Pizza

“This place was so cute. All allergens labeled on their menus. There were 2 pizzas with pesto I believe, but otherwise no nuts. They can even make your pizza in the shape of a heart. Waiters spoke English as well!”

Sightseeing: The Duomo

Sightseeing: Piazza Santo Spirito

Day 5

Lunch: Pisa at La corte di San Leonardo

“Menu was very easy to navigate. We ordered something called “tortelli” which was almost like a ravioli. Very good, felt safe!”

Dinner: La Galleria

“We really liked this place! Delicious food and wine. We ate outside and had a great time. Our waiter spoke English and the menu was easy to navigate. I remember seeing barely nuts on the menu at all!”

Drinks: Il Magnífico

“My favorite wine in all of Italy!”

Sightseeing: Leaning Tower of Pisa

Sightseeing: The Streets of Pisa

Day 6

Lunch: Plaza Restaurant

“Great food. I believe this is one of the menus that had no nuts on it at all if I recall correctly. Waiter spoke English. We ate outside, and it was so cute!”

Dinner: Braceria All’11

“This place was so delicious we went twice. The owner spoke perfect English and made me feel very safe. I can’t recall seeing any nuts on the menu. Had some great pasta dishes and limoncello!”

Sightseeing: Streets of Lucca

Sightseeing: Piazza dell’Anfiteatro

Day 7

“Menu was written in 4 languages which was really cool. All allergens were clearly laid out in each language. We had pizza and a spritz!”

Sightseeing: Explored streets of Venice

Sightseeing: Gondola Ride

Day 8

Sightseeing: Walked down to the Beach

Day 9

Lunch: La Tonnarella

“This restaurant looked delicious, however I didn’t feel safe to eat here. We were doing a private boat tour, and our captain made a stop here. My husband ate, but the only way to access this restaurant was by boat and so I didn’t feel safe in case of a reaction. Also, being at the Amalfi coast as opposed to a very touristy area like Rome, the English was much more limited.”

Dinner: Bar Antares

“Really enjoyed this place! I was always a bit more cautious on the Amalfi coast because less people spoke English. I definitely made sure I felt safe before I ate. But this place was great. Beautiful location and delicious food. Menu was written in both Italian and English and there were many safe options for me.”

Sightseeing: Swam in Mediterranean

Day 10

Dinner: Midnight Sun Minori

“We loved this place! Maybe our favorite meal of the whole trip. Had a delicious lemon pasta and the owner even sat down with us and had a glass of wine. Amazing place, great location right on the water. The owner made me feel extremely safe with my allergies!”

Sightseeing: Ferry to Positano

Sightseeing: 1865 steps to Heaven

Sightseeing: Streets of Positano

Day 11

Dinner: Il Falchetto

“Our last meal in Italy. Ate outside on the way back from the pantheon. Some nuts on the menu but the waiter and owner spoke with us and made me feel safe. Had a good experience!”

Dessert: Limonè

“Nut-free gelato shop in Rome. They only have lemon flavors, and they assured me everything would be safe for my allergies. No risk of cross-contamination. And the shop was adorable!”

Sightseeing: Pantheon
