Caffè Matteo Snc di Galletti Riccardo e Rizzuto Donato
Location: Corniglia, Italy
“Lovely cafe in the center square of Corniglia! They had gluten-free options, and the staff was very accommodating.”

Nessun Dorma
Location: Manarola, Italy
“The pesto-making class here was the highlight of our trip. They were mindful of allergies and offered substitutes!”
Il Discovolo La Spezia
Location: Manarola, Italy
“Such a nice find tucked into the Main Street of Manarola! The owner is so friendly and told me all about their gluten-free options, which are clearly marked in their display case. He explained that their focaccia and pizza are made of chickpea flour—in the south of France they call this “socca”, and in Italy it’s called “farinata”. I got the pesto and cheese focaccia slice and it was dense but delicious! There are some benches outside, but it’s more of a takeout place, and cash only!”
Trattoria dal Billy
Location: Manarola, Italy
“This restaurant has the best view in Manarola! Quite a hike to get up to, but worth it to see an amazing sunset. Waitstaff were knowledgeable and able to point out what I could have, and said they could do pretty much all pasta dishes with gf penne. I got one of the specials with truffle and cheese on top – it wasn’t that most flavorful, but I have heard amazing things about the food here so I think the dish I got just wasn’t their best! Would definitely still recommend for both their gluten free knowledge and especially for the location and views!”
Gelateria Sorbetteria 5 Terre
Location: Manarola, Italy
“I didn’t end up eating here since both times I tried to go they were sadly closed but I’ve heard amazing things and it’s 100% gluten free so I’d recommend trying to stop by! According to signs outside they have gelato, sorbet, crepes and cannoli – all gluten free!!! So wish I had been able to try, but I’ll have to settle for living vicariously through others’ reviews!”
Ristorante L’Ancora della Tortuga
Location: Monterosso al Mare, Italy
“This place was great! We got a late reservation here so we opted to sit inside, but in summer it would be the perfect place to watch the sunset in Monterosso. Waitstaff were knowledgeable about celiac and told me what on the menu I could have (most of the fish dishes and any pasta dish with gluten free pasta). I got a grilled fish dish and it was delicious – and they brought me gluten free bread which I always appreciate!”
Pizzeria La Smorfia
Location: Monterosso al Mare, Italy
“The best place I tried in all of Cinque Terre! We stopped here on our last day and I only wish I’d stopped earlier!! They can make any of their pizzas gluten free. I went with a ricotta, mushroom, prosciutto and arugula pizza and omg! The crust was incredible, and the toppings were perfect. This is THE pizza you need to try. Seating is limited, but they also do takeout.”

Hotel Albergo Degli Amici
Location: Monterosso al Mare, Italy
“We stayed here for four nights while exploring the Cinque Terre. They were accommodating of dietary restrictions!”

Lunch Box
Location: Vernazza, Italy
“I loved this place! They have clear signs outside listing allergens, making it super easy to order.”
Belforte
Location: Vernazza, Italy
“We had an incredible dinner here on our first night in Cinque Terre! I explained I was celiac, and our waiter pointed out the dishes I could have and said they could make any of the pasta dishes gluten-free. I opted for the grilled seafood platter and it was absolutely incredible and so fresh. They also brought gluten-free bread to the table which I always appreciate! My boyfriend had regular pasta (handmade!), and he said it was the best dish that he had the whole trip. Definitely reserve in advance as they book up!”
Ristorante La Torre
Location: Vernazza, Italy
“Loved this place!! Their menu is clearly marked on what dishes contain the top allergens, which gave me so much peace of mind. I still checked with the waiter, and she confirmed the dishes I could have. Ended up going with the mussels in tomato broth and they were so fresh and soooo good! We got here after the sun went down but the views would be amazing during the day or at sunset – I recommend getting a reservation!”
