15. Diego Pops
Location: Scottsdale
“If you are in the Scottsdale area and you’re looking for a great restaurant for people with peanut allergies, I highly recommend Diego Pops. Our daughter has a severe peanut allergy and Diego Pops is one of our top go-to restaurants. The food is always fresh and healthy and delicious. It’s a fun atmosphere. The staff are friendly and their menu is reasonably priced. The only item on their menu with nuts is a dessert with peanuts. The desserts are prepared in an area away from the entrées so we don’t order dessert and our server always marks our order for a nut allergy. And the management is really good about keeping the nuts away from anyone who is allergic—they “get it” and take it very seriously.”

When we still had concerns about a couple of menu items, they pulled out the full ingredient list for us and were super knowledgeable about the items. “Great dining experience at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale. They have good allergy policies and well-trained staff (chef Nick Miracle was amazing!) dedicated allergy food prep areas and fryers. Facility is peanut and tree nut-free. Rooms are spacious and have a decent sized fridge. Great to get a break from bringing and prepping food for the family for a moment. My son who has severe nut allergies had so many great breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Also, we try to keep nut-free snacks with us at all times, so we found a Whole Foods less than a mile away. So we ran there to get safe snacks for little hunger bursts during the day. We have really enjoyed the Fairmont Princess and highly recommend it.”

5. Marriott’s Canyon Villas
Location: Phoenix
“It’s a timeshare property but you can rent an apartment by the night without membership, probably when available (we booked through hotels.com this time). Great for families, big living room with dining table and fully equipped kitchen with full fridge and freezer. Close to several good grocery stores that carry allergy-friendly products, close to many restaurants that are allergy-aware. We didn’t dine on property, in fact we had bad and inconsistent experiences with the resort restaurants in the past.”

6. Hyatt Regency Phoenix
Location: Phoenix
“I had a great experience at this hotel! I was here for a conference, and the catering team made me special food (even if just fresh fruit to avoid cross contact) each time food was served throughout the conference! It was all safe and delicious! The hotel room lotion was milk-based, and they immediately brought me 5 mini bottles of a safe lotion when I inquired! I cannot comment on the dining services, but my limited experiences at this hotel were great. It’s also just a couple blocks from a major grocery store!”
