ARIZONA

Tea Light Café

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

“Always have a positive experience with this place! I have not checked if there are nuts/other allergens present in the kitchen, but the pho broth and add ins are nut-free.”

CALIFORNIA

Xi’an

Location: Beverly Hills, California

“The most delicious Chinese food with a staff that is careful and aware of allergies. My family has dairy, shellfish, peanut, and gluten allergies and we have never gotten sick at Xi’an. The waiters are kind; the atmosphere is always a pleasant time. They mark allergies on the receipt if you order take out and they are able to make nearly EVERY dish gluten-free! I recommend the minced chicken lettuce cups—they are the best I’ve ever had from any restaurant. If you can tolerate gluten, I recommend the veggie spring rolls which are also the best spring rolls anyone in my family (disclaimer: I’ve never tried them due to celiacs) claims to have ever had!”

Pho Truc Xanh

Location: Escondido, California

“We trust the family and community-friendly staff here to serve our child dairy, egg, and nut-free pho, grilled meats, steamed rice, and drinks. The staff are amazing and know us by name. If one of us orders an item that may have an allergen, they inform us immediately and take time to answer our questions. It’s our go-to trusted, delicious, and safe pho spot!”

Berkeley Social Club

Location: Berkeley, California

“I went to brunch here with friends and was hesitant because 1) it’s a Korean restaurant, so sesame is everywhere and 2) I’d never been before. Looking at the menu, there appeared to be some options I could have. When talking to the waitress, she informed me that everything was cooked on the same grill and wouldn’t let me order something I could have (that was likely cross contaminated). She helped me make accommodations on a really nice smoked salmon salad, which was really good! Although it’s a bit tough to find options here for my allergens, the waitstaff is incredibly helpful and caring.”

Cơm 90°

Location: San Jose, California

“A Vietnamese restaurant in San Jose close to where my son trains. He orders the beef pho soup; he hasn’t tried other dishes. The staff speaks good English and is always helpful with allergies. They check with the kitchen when you mention allergies.”

@allergyzealmom who manages celiac and tree nut, milk, egg, shellfish, and wheat allergies

Din Tai Fung

Location: Arcadia, California

“The allergen menu online is super helpful, and they just introduced a new line of vegan dishes (i.e. wontons, dumplings, and noodles made with JUST Egg instead of real eggs). I love this restaurant!”

@amandayoung03 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

Iron Teapot Dim Sum & Bar

Location: Los Angeles, California

“This is a great spot if you have allergies to animal products (eggs, dairy, fish, etc.) and have wanted to try dim sum! I really appreciated how they had a full vegan menu of options. The service was not great, to be honest, but our server by the end of the night made it up to us with free cucumber salad and broccoli. This is one of the few dim sum places I’ve come across with extensive vegan options, so I’d say this is worth checking out!”

Gen Korean BBQ House

Location: Alhambra, California

“AYCE meat—you can decide what to order/avoid.”

@nixole who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, shellfish, and sesame allergies

Mamahuhu

Location: San Francisco, California

“I highly recommend this fast casual Chinese restaurant in the Inner Richmond district of SF. I was so pleasantly surprised when the waiter pulled out a laminated allergen menu and was able to tell me exactly which items had dairy and eggs in them. I ordered the Kung Pao plate with veggies and rice and loved it. My dish did contain nuts, so be sure to alert the waiter when you order about your allergies so that you can ensure it is safe if you have a nut allergy.”

@nixole who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, shellfish, and sesame allergies

“There were many items here that were dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, and without sesame. The waiter is always helpful and the food has not given me issues.”

@gfbri who manages celiac and milk, egg, wheat, sesame, fruit, and grain allergies

Jjukku Jjukku BBQ

Location: Los Angeles, California

“All the meats are 100% GLUTEN-FREE as long as they are unmarinated! You prepare your food at your own table and can clean your grill to know it’s safe. An incredible all-you-can-eat experience that will leave you so satisfied! I recommend just keeping it coming on the beef.”

@gluttenous who manages celiac and egg, wheat, and grain allergies

Monster Phở

Location: Oakland, California

“100% peanut free. I was told all pho is gluten-free and there are some other gluten-free options on menu they were able to help with. The menu is not clear on all allergens except for peanut as they state “ MONSTER PHO IS A 100% PEANUT-FREE RESTAURANT” (right on top!) so went in during slow time to ask questions. A little bit of a drive but worth it to know 100% peanut free! I also didn’t mind taking to go so I could dip my shrimp spring rolls (made gf) in some gf sauces at home. No gf soy available in restaurants when we went so dipping sauces are limited if you avoid gluten.”

@cali who manages celiac and peanut and egg allergies

Korean restaurant “Korean Barbecue Uguk”

Location: San Gabriel, California

“Straight up AYCE meat. I usually avoid the side dishes and marinated meats.”

GEORGIA

770 Korean BBQ Restaurant

Location: Suwanee, Georgia

“This is not the safest option regarding cross contamination. But with the right people, they will make sure you are safe! My friends know that my meat has to cook first, and then after that, they can order all they want. I can have the beef brisket and pork belly, which is so good! Although, I hate that it costs extra for rice considering it’s one of the only things I can eat there, besides the pickled radish. In my experience all the waiters and waitresses know exactly what is in each dish on the table—super helpful for me!”

@samisanders who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, shellfish, and wheat allergies

HAWAII

Simple Joy Vegetarian Cuisine

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

“This is a vegan restaurant in Hawai’i with lots of different kinds of Asian food (and even pasta!). They have a lot of seafood substitutes which is really cool — e.g., fish, shrimp. The food was also delicious!”

@amandayoung03 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

ILLINOIS

Dak Dak Korean Wings

Location: Villa Park, Illinois

“Dak Dak Korean wings were a delicious find in Villa Park, IL. The owner Joey took an incredible amount of time talking with me about the process for making his exceptional wings for my son with nut, egg and dairy allergies. They bread the wings in an all purpose flour and (double) fry them in canola oil, making them safe for my son. And, FYI, most of the separate dipping sauces have dairy in them so we just avoided those, no problem. The menu is simple, only making wings and fries, so give this place a try next time you’re in the area—it’s well worth it!”

@leefriday who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings

Location: Chicago, Illinois

“They have two vegan dumpling options, so I tried the tofu mushroom cabbage dumplings, which were delicious!”

@amandayoung03 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

Wild Ginger

Location: Hinsdale, Illinois

“They use a dedicated prep area and have a very clear protocol regarding allergens. I often eat here with my friends because it’s pretty casual and one of the cheaper options to eat out in Hinsdale. They have great Asian food! I usually get sushi and have never had any problems. My peanut-allergic friend has eaten here with me too and has always been safe! The staff are very nice and give much attention when you communicate allergies!”

@reganh who manages milk and egg allergies

Wow Bao – Water Tower Place

NEW YORK

Sunhee’s Farm and Kitchen

Location: Troy, New York

“Asian foods are a major pitfall for us, given an allergy to sesame. However, the owner and staff at this farm-to-table restaurant have been wonderful, and my son has been able to eat their kimbap roll, which is as close to aushi as we can get out (short of me making it at home!). We ask for vegan (no egg) and the remainder of the filling is mostly vegetables and tofu. Also, specifically ask for no sesame seeds and no sesame oil brushed on the roll. Sometimes you just have to play detective, have great staff, and know what’s hidden despite a good description of the food on the menu. As for other top 8, there are other dishes that can be made gluten-free/vegan. Note that the broth is a fish based broth for soups, so that’s something that can’t be altered as far as I know. All in all, one of the few Asian restaurants we can eat at as a family! Love the owner and her helpful staff!”

@abracadaver6 who manages celiac and peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, shellfish, seed and grain allergies

The Original Buddha Bodai Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant

Location: New York, New York

“This is a restaurant in Chinatown that serves vegan dim sum and Chinese food! The menu items with peanuts are clearly labeled. I was so excited to eat some of my old favorites that I haven’t had since going vegan, and also try some new ones that would traditionally have shrimp like shumai and shrimp dumplings.”

@amandayoung03 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

NORTH CAROLINA

Joa Korean Food

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

“Awesome place. Nice simple menu. Owner and staffs are super friendly. The owner told me they don’t have any peanut or tree nuts in the kitchen. They don’t use dairy products. Eggs are only on 2 items (bibimbap and japchae). In Korean cooking, they don’t do egg wash. My kid’s favorite are bulgogi chicken and galbi.”

@happy who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

Let’s Meat Kbbq

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

“They have separate menu for different types of allergies. It’s a nut-free restaurant (they do use sesame.) If you have multiple allergies (for us, egg, dairy, and peanuts), make sure to check the item you like against EACH allergy menu! Make sure you ask the server about their sides (this comes automatically with your meal).”

@happy who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, and egg allergies

Red Bowl Asian Bistro

Location: Burlington, North Carolina

“Recently visited Red Bowl twice with friends and had wonderful experiences both times! I ordered plain grilled chicken and vegetables without sauce and they were delicious! When I told the waiters about the severity of my allergies, they never made a huge deal of it, but were diligent to be very cautious with my allergens and order and notified the kitchen. Definitely will visit again when back in NC!”

@delaneybrody who manages peanut, tree nut, and egg allergies

@alohabailey who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, and sesame allergies

Pod

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“One of my favorite asian restaurants to eat at in Philly! While there is definitely a lot of dishes with nuts, the waiters and chef made me feel very safe and ensured no cross contamination. Along with the amazing food the restaurant is in a fun environment as each family gets their own pod in which you can choose the color!”

@delaneybrody who manages peanut, tree nut, and egg allergies

Dim Sum House By Jane G’s – Rittenhouse

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“A dim sum restaurant with a vegan menu is almost unheard of! My guy got to eat scallion pancakes and spring rolls—things he traditionally cannot because they contain eggs. We also got har gow, Singapore mai fun, sticky rice in lotus leaf, and chrysanthemum tea! We are Chinese and this tasted delicious and authentic!”

Sunrise Vietnamese Restaurant

“This is an amazing Asian fusion bar in the heart of College West. Highly recommend for a fun night out with friends! @amandayoung03 who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish allergies

SINGAPORE

Eight Treasures

Location: Singapore, Singapore

“This is a delicious Chinese restaurant in Singapore’s Chinatown! The menu shows which dishes have dairy. I tried the vegan satay, which was super flavorful even without the peanut sauce. (We were able to confirm that there were no nuts used in the marinade). We also had the local spinach soup and Eight Treasures noodles made with a vegan fish that was really tasty!”

SOUTH KOREA

고깃집왕건

Location: Gwangju-si, South Korea

“I loved eating Korean BBQ during my trip, and this was probably my favorite place!! We were able to grill the meat right in front of us, and asked for an unseasoned cut for me. They also provided me with wraps and side dishes that were allergy-safe. Once the meat was cooked, I was able to use my own dish of smoked salt to sprinkle on top! It was a delicious meal out with my family!”

“The staff were super helpful at this Korean fusion restaurant! It is located in the famous neighborhood of Insadong and is housed in a Korean traditional house! They are known for their Geujip on rice. I got a rice bowl with avocados, corn, red onions, and various chopped greens. It was a refreshing and healthy meal, and I would love to try some more items off of their menu if I were to go again!”

@audreycha who manages peanut, tree nut, egg, shrimp, wheat, seed, and grain allergies

401레스토랑

Location: Jung-gu, South Korea

“This is a super popular and busy Korean BBQ restaurant! The chain was created by Haha and Kim Jong-Kook, two cast members from Korea’s most well-known reality tv show: Running Man. The staff were able to separately provide me with plain and unseasoned pork belly to grill with some veggies on the side. They also gave me my own basket of lettuce wraps. Once the meat was cooked, I then used seasoning and sauces that were safe for me. It was overall a super fun environment and experience! The walls are covered with signatures of famous Korean celebrities who ate at the restaurant, so I had lots of fun spotting my favorites!”
