Ugly Dumpling
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Soho location: Upon asking about celiac safety, we were greeted by the owner, who explained the kitchen and serving protocol and made us feel comfortable. Absolutely delicious! Terrific selection of dumpling flavors. Our favorites: chicken satay, prawn, and pulled pork. The gluten-free lunch meal deal twice a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays, is a good value. Dumplings come with a choice of sides: cucumber salad was super fresh. Plated clearly. Even sauces come in different-sized dishes to avoid confusion. The owner was training our brand new waiter on how to understand and communicate the restaurant’s gluten-free protocol.”

Bill’s Clink Street Restaurant
Location: London, United Kingdom
“This place was fine. A chain you can trust according to my gluten-free family who lives in the UK. For a kid not in the mood for breakfast food, the gluten-free menu felt limited. My celiac kid had BBQ pork fries—quite spicy. From the regular menu, the chicken shawarma was tasty and filling. Central to the London Bridge area.”

Soho Hobson’s Fish & Chips
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Delicious traditional battered fish and chips. Great portion size. The kitchen staff and waiters followed protocols with good communication.”

Boots
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Surprisingly, this pharmacy chain offers excellent grab-and-go gluten-free sandwiches throughout England. Varieties we tried: cheese and onion, and chicken with bacon. The Heathrow food section was not stocked when we visited.”

Noglu
Location: Paris, France
“Dedicated gluten-free. We had the lunch special plate: fresh salad with quinoa, choice of grilled cheese or avocado toast, and juice (a bonus on a hot day). Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely plated. Yummy, crunchy bread and nice bagels. Unfortunately, we ran into the only rude server on our trip here, an American. No A/C. A 10-minute walk from Musée d’Orsay.”

YA BAYTÉ by Hébé
Location: Paris, France
“I contacted the owner prior to my trip. They confirmed their tiny kitchen is unable to avoid cross-contact.”

Noglu
Location: Paris, France
“We stayed down the road and frequented this location during our stay. Especially enjoyed the bagels—the texture was perfect! And my daughter had her first éclair ever! Lots of flavor choices. Hours are a bit limited at this location in the 11th. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

La Crêperie
Location: Paris, France
“Just across from the Panthéon, a 15-minute walk from Notre Dame. Lovely sidewalk table, attentive, well-trained staff who assured us of no cross-contact. My gluten-free family enjoyed a savory buckwheat crêpe loaded with ham, egg, mushrooms, and cheese. My blueberry crêpe with ice cream from the regular menu was delightful.”
Grano Libero Ristorante senza Glutine
Location: Pisa, Italy
“One of our best meals in Europe. Everything is GF. Lovely, cozy interior with A/C. We had a relaxing lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the large antipasto platter- filled with unexpected delights: an amazing leek soufflé and a cheese fondue with GF bread. Focaccia for my sandwich blew away any other GF bread: crunchy, herby, wonderful! Caesar Salads were light and fresh.”
I Gelati di Piero
Location: Lucca, Italy
“When we asked about celiac safety, the owner replied, “Welcome to gluten-free paradise.” And it was paradise. All cones and flavors are gluten free. We ate here at least 4 times. The black cherry is divine! Cones just like “regular”. Such a treat! They also have a refrigerator case filled with GF desserts. My daughter loved the tiramisu.”
Trattoria Pizzeria Da Gherardo Lucca
Location: Lucca, Italy
“Located in the old Roman amphitheater, this gem serves homemade safe, gluten-free pasta and pizzas. Well trained, knowledgeable staff. Our favorite dishes: divine lasagna and the local dish: wild boar Ragu on homemade pasta. Almost all pizzas can be made GF. GF menu available in many languages. Clear plating protocol for gluten-free dishes. A rare treat: Gluten-free breadsticks served before your meal.”
