Hi! I’m Emma Jewel and I attend Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. I’m currently a freshman and I’m an Environmental Science and Biology major. I manage celiac and peanut and tree nut allergies and have shared lots of reviews on Spokin app. Follow me there @nutsfornogluten and on Instagram @nutsfornogluten.

Tufts University

“The Tufts dining halls are amazing! The Carmichael is great as it’s 100% gluten-free and nut-free (except coconuts). They have a wide range of food and drink options for all three meals as well as good vegetarian options. Dewick has the all-9, which is free from the top 9 allergens, where they serve you on a new plate to avoid cross-contamination. There’s also the gluten and nut-free pantry you can get access to through dining with desserts and snacks.”

Carmichael Dining Hall

“Carmichael is so amazing as it’s 100% gluten-free and nut-free (except coconuts). They have a wide range of food and drink options for all three meals as well as good vegetarian options.”

Grainmaker

“Asian food that is gluten-free! Beware of nuts and check the allergen info. The staff is careful.”

Sugidama Soba and Izakaya

“Amazing sushi and they have gluten-free soy sauce. Most of their sushi can be made gluten-free—just ask!”

For Pizza

“Delicious gluten-free pizza! The staff is super careful with gluten and nuts (the only nuts used are for vegan cheese and pesto), and the owner is so kind!”

Hodgdon Food on the Run

“Hodgdon Food on the Run (Hodg) is similar to a Chipotle at the dining hall’s Mexican station, with a bowl option. They have tortillas, so I always ask for a glove change.”

Yoshi’s

“Great sushi with gluten-free soy sauce available. I know they are able to remove ingredients from some rolls like the crunch and certain sauces, but I normally stick to plainer rolls anyways. Nuts are no issue.”
