Kvarnen Uteservering
“This was a group outing for my study abroad with a preset menu. The instructor alerted the restaurant about my allergies ahead of time, and they did an amazing job accommodating my allergies. I was able to eat a traditional Swedish meatball meal, along with a chocolate truffle and pickled herring (another traditional Swedish dish, although it is an acquired taste!).”

Urban Deli
“Definitely one of the best meals I had in Stockholm! This was a preset dinner with a veggie tray appetizer, steak and fries entrée, and chocolate pie dessert. The waiters were very accommodating of my allergies and made sure that everything was nut free.”

Meatballs for the People
“Another TikTok staple in Stockholm, but this is totally worth the hype! They serve traditional Swedish meatballs made from your choice of all kinds of different meats. I opted for the classic half-beef and half-pork, but there are even options like reindeer! The staff was very educated about the allergens in the food, and it was a great experience.”

ICA
“This was our go-to grocery store in Stockholm! They had a large selection of items, and allergens were clearly labeled.”

Eatalia
“This was a decent pizzeria near our classroom for study abroad. There wasn’t anything outstanding about it, but good portions for the price and no nuts!”

Tokyo Ramen
“A great place to grab ramen! They have a very limited menu. I got the shoyu ramen, and the staff was great about making sure it was allergy-friendly.”

Soso Sushi
“This was a simple, easy to go-to sushi place! I got chicken yakitori. They had a large selection of Japanese dishes.”

Rosendals Trädgård
“Great spot to grab lunch in this garden! There were a lot of pastries that contained nuts. However, the actual meals for the day were nut free. I got a chicken dish that came with peas and potatoes.”

Caramella
“If you open TikTok in Stockholm, you will no doubt see this iconic candy store as a suggestion. It is a scoop-your-own-candy store, so there is a chance of cross-contamination. However, there is a list of ingredients on every container of candy. I felt safe making a bag of just the gummy candy and avoiding the chocolates.”

Brödernas
“This was a simple burger chain in Stockholm—very much like any other place you’d find in the US! There were hardly any nuts on the menu, and they had a decently large selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and more.”

Hawaii Poké – Gallerian
“Such a great place to grab poke! The cashier showed me an allergen menu they had, and everything appeared to be nut free.”

Max Burgers
“This is the McDonald’s of Sweden! The food is decent, and they have a large menu. They have an allergen menu online, although it is in Swedish. I felt very safe eating here, and there are a good amount of them around Stockholm.”

Lisa Elmqvist
“This is in the famous Östermalm food hall! They had a great selection of dishes. I will say that this was on the pricier side, but it was really good regardless. I got fish and chips, which came with a pea sauce as well.”
