“The food and service here were 10/10! Our server immediately asked about allergies and confirmed that there were no nuts every time a dish arrived. They brought out chips, but promptly let me know there was a chance of cross-contamination in the fryer, so they brought me tostadas instead, as those aren’t fried. We had such an amazing experience here, and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend it!”

“Literally the best burger I’ve ever had. I told our waiter very early on about my allergy and he made sure everything my friend and I ordered were nut-free so we could share. They definitely did have a lot of nuts on the menu but he was clear that they would do their best to prevent cross-contamination. Caesar salad was made in “lettuce boats”, which was an interesting take on Caesar salad, but was still delicious!”

“Oh my gosh, this place is the BEST fast-food taco place anywhere. I would have eaten every meal here. They have corn tortillas – one thing to watch out for is the onion dish – which is one of their top sellers, it has Maggi on it – which is a Mexican sauce that has gluten in it. But, apparently, you can get the onions without Maggi. Highly recommend the Chicharron!”

“Called a week beforehand and they were so helpful with food options! I was told that their pizza options had pine nuts, so just for cross-contact reasons not to try the pizza, but their pasta was perfectly fine. I tried their pasta pomodoro and it was AMAZING! Normally I don’t like super simple pasta, but it was so flavorful for a pasta with just tomato sauce. Also amazing drinks!”

“The tacos were really good! I ordered two—trompo and res. You order at the counter here, so we asked while ordering and were told there were no nuts in what I got.”

“Ask for the corn tortillas to be separated from the flour tortillas, they were originally all put in the same tortilla warmer together. Their queso fundido and quac are amazing. For our main course we had grilled meats and veggies on little hibachis at the table. Fantastic meal. Note: Tree nuts are fairly prevalent at the restaurant and I did not have my tree nut allergic child with me.”

“Didn’t eat a meal here, but they were super knowledgeable about cross-contact with their drinks (coffee grinds and drinks made in the blender) that I’m sure they’d be knowledgeable with their food as well. They brought us safe popcorn instead of nuts to snack on because I noted a nut allergy early on. Definitely recommend because of the vibe and service!”

“Waitstaff was great with food allergies, there are tree nuts on the menu but they were able to make a ton of amazing dishes without them. Not a huge selection of gluten-free options. Food allergic person ate a bunch of the pizzas and heirloom salad. Gluten-free person had the lamb shish kabob – wouldn’t recommend not because it wasn’t safe but it wasn’t that great. But all of the other food was amazing and staff was super knowledgeable and helpful.”

Jenni’s Quesadillas
“This is a popular stand. Service moves fast, so be ready to order and move along. I looked up menu photos that people had posted online and saw an older version that included green mole (beware of mole if you have tree nut/peanut allergies). When we visited, the menu was posted and I didn’t see any mole or anything concerning. I asked, and they said there were no nuts at all. It seems the menu changes based on past photos, so just be aware. The food was very good—we ended up going twice!”

Restaurante Rosetta
“Such a stunning location and vibe. Book this early, it’s hard to get in! The restaurant WhatsApp’d us the day of to confirm and ask if we had food allergies we let them know that we had peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and gluten (traveling with a friend). Our server showed up to our table and wanted to know (in English) who had allergies and listed out the ones we stated in the whatsapp-amazing communication. He was super helpful steering us in the right direction. Food allergic person had tagliatelle, and gluten-free person had mushroom risotto. As an appetizer, they brought out Oaxaca and butter and brought out gluten-free bread. You have to go here, it’s such a great spot.”

“Update: amazing!
Was able to eat a ton of different things here, specifically asked for corn tortillas. They have guacamole with grasshoppers sprinkled on top! Crazy electric atmosphere and tons of fun. They do have a lot of things with nuts – did not take my tree-nut food allergy child here.”

“Went for drinks, appetizers, and dessert, and it was amazing! We loved the tostada, flan, and wine so much that we went twice during our trip. The staff asked us about allergies and were super attentive. We ordered something with pumpkin seeds, and they asked if that was okay. I get wary of seeds sometimes, just in case they are next to each other at the garnish station, but I told them that was fine. They must’ve read my mind because they ended up bringing the seeds on the side to be cautious.”

La 89
“This casual spot earned a Michelin recommendation for its asada and birria. Huge hit for my family of four! One of our favorite meals.
You can find the menu online. It’s really simple! Choose your meat and how you want it: as a taco, torta, etc.
My gluten-free partner and nut allergic kids ordered asada and birria tacos on corn tortillas. I ordered lengua and asada tacos. We all shared a bowl of beans. Kids had passionfruit juice and mango Boing.
We checked with the server beforehand about whether there were nuts in anything we ordered. The server was knowledgeable and spoke English fluently. She confirmed we were good and we proceeded to have a fantastic meal.”

“Staff knew about allergens and were able to confidently explain and help with the menu and safe dishes. We had the tuna tostada, sourdough bread, fish cheek special, lamb and truffle dumplings. I felt my allergy was understood and taken very seriously (including asking about sesame/seeds).“
