“Delicious nut-free poke! This food truck does not use any tree nuts or peanuts (no kukui nut oil or mac nut toppings). The poke tasted very fresh and authentic! However, there are sesame seeds in the poke, which would make it unsuitable for anyone with a sesame allergy.”

A-Bay’s Island Grill

“They clearly understood dairy allergy and were very accommodating in going through the menu with options. Good quality food; we ended up ordering the poke for my son who thought it was great!”

Island Vintage Coffee

“Delicious food in a walkable area! My go-to spot for vegan poke and acai bowls.”

Doraku Sushi

“This was our first stop in Waikiki. Spoke to the sushi chef and he assured us that he can accommodate all our allergies! The service was wonderful, but the sushi wasn’t the best. If you are looking for a quick bite and a drink, this isn’t a bad place to go. My son ordered a shrimp and avocado roll, and he thought it was delicious.”

Moani Island Bistro and Bar

“We went to the Kapolei location, but they have a location in Waikiki in what is now the new International Marketplace Mall.

Nothing on the menu had peanuts or tree nuts when we went, so that made it easy. They do have sesame on things, but since my son got the go-ahead to eat sesame, he was able to enjoy. Of course we watched him all the time.

It was a fun spot. A lot of locals (in Kapolei anyway) and live local music.

We got the ahi poke nachos, yakisoba, kawali chicken, and Kalbi.”

Hanalei Poke

Hanalei Poke

“This place was great! At the bottom of the menu it says to let the server know about any allergies so they can accommodate. I told them about my allergy and the lady assured me they have no peanuts or peanut oil. They do have macadamia nuts and inamona (a topping made of kukui aka candle nut!). She wrote down nut allergy on my order ticket, and when I picked up my food from the other window another lady assured me there were no nuts and that they made mine in a separate bowl.”

Honaunau Poke Shop

“Excited to find this poke spot, which identifies on the menu which poke and sides are gluten-free and dairy-free. We got the sesame poke and shoyu poke (made with gluten-free soy sauce!) for my son, which he enjoyed! They also have gluten-free soy sauce available in the seating area if you want to add extra.”

Moku Kitchen

“Moku Kitchen was in a fun area of Honolulu. There were not many items that were gluten-free, but the staff was able to prepare me poke without soy sauce and gave a side of taro chips.”

Ulu Café

“Quick service restaurant at Aulani. Lots of prelabeled things like salads, sandwiches, etc. They also have a place you can order from for Acai bowls, tuna and tofu poke and additional items. Baked goods without nuts and peanuts and also musubi in the shape of Mickey, and labeled for allergies. Be warned—even though I didn’t see any nuts on the menu, they do make a kale grain bowl at the same place they make the poke, and that is mixed on site with peanut butter, which seemed like an odd choice for an allergy-friendly restaurant.”

Holoholo Grill

“Located inside the Koloa Landing Resort in Poipu. The menu was clearly labeled, and the staff was incredibly helpful. I ordered the poke bowl, and it was delicious.”

Leong’s Market and Grill

No nuts used at all. Amazing poke bowls. Fantastic value. Called ahead and they reassured me they don’t use any nuts at all. Helpful server- albeit a little short-staffed, so she was wearing many hats while we were there. My son had the mauai onion ahi tuna bowl safely.”

Tropic Poke Sushi

“Nut-free poke! Fresh and delicious.”

Kilauea Fish Market

“The staff took the time to talk about all my allergy concerns. They double-checked with management about the oil used in the poke. The food was amazing, with a special shout-out to their poke and mac salad, which I could not get enough of.

**Disclaimer: this was my personal experience. Everyone’s food allergies are different. Always make sure your server is aware of your allergy or allergies and double-check before going to any place because ingredients and menus may change.**”
