1. Disney Cruise Line
“We recently spent 4 nights on the Wish, and it was a great experience—both generally and in terms of my 7-year-old son’s food allergies. Pixie Lizzie was our travel agent; she gave us lots of helpful tips before our trip.
We preordered my son’s meals at night for the following day, including for Castaway Cay. He had Mickey churro waffles for breakfast daily and overall felt the cruise was an amazing food experience.
The kids’ club does not allow food (except for one activity that took place while our family was off the boat in Nassau). Kids must wash their hands before entering. We left EpiPens with staff each time we checked him in.
Our family hadn’t cruised before, and we enjoy exploring new cities and trying new restaurants (with a good track record re: allergies). That being said, managing allergies was extremely easy on the Wish, and we would consider taking another Disney cruise at some point in the future.”

2. Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD.
“Absolutely amazing for food allergies. They ask every night what you would like the next day and will modify the dishes to accommodate your allergies. The food is always delicious and even at the buffets they have allergen labels and will help you.”

3. Norwegian Cruise Line
“In every restaurant, I felt comfortable that my food was made safely. They ask if you have food allergies before you place your order. I avoided desserts even though they sometimes offered to keep it separate from ones with nuts just because I’m not comfortable with desserts. Overall very accommodating and staff are educated!”

5. Celebrity Cruises
“We were on the Celebrity Constellation in the Mediterranean. The first person we encountered was the head chef for the ship who was carefully observing his crew about four hours before we left the dock. When we explained our allergy, he connected us with the buffet chef who toured us through the entire buffet. He explained what was safe and how they would make a special version of anything that was not safe if my daughter wanted it. They have dedicated areas for different prep and almost everything was safe.
In the main dining room, the waitstaff was very attentive and knowledgeable. They would bring out the next night menu the night before so she could choose what she wanted and they could prepare it safely for her. It was just incredible. She could eat almost everything.
All I can say is that if you thought Disneyland, Disneyworld, and Disney cruises are the gold standard for allergen safety, I encourage you to try Celebrity Cruises. It was even better than the service at Disneyland. It was truly special.”

6. Viking Cruises
“My peanut and tree nut allergic daughter and I had a lovely time with no issues on a Danube cruise. They checked with her every morning at breakfast to tell her what to avoid at breakfast and to preorder lunch and dinner so everyone was aware of the plan for the day. Delicious food!”

7. Disney Dream
“We loved that our head waiter stayed with us for each sit down meal. He was fully aware of our son’s allergies and repeated them to us before ordering. Excellent experience!”

8. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line
“Such a lit cruise! When it comes to food, there are buffers and the staff will help you navigate what foods are safe to eat. I had no problems and felt really safe with my allergy. So so so fun!”

9. Princess Cruises
“My first ever cruise and wow!!!! They have such an amazing protocol I do not think words can describe how amazing it was!!! Different restaurants on board have different protocols, for example one restaurant on board requires to order your meal the night before, they let you pick from the main menu and accommodate it based on your allergies. A lot of the meals are course meals so I was able to get every course including desserts. The restaurant managers will come out to talk with you, help you order and make sure everything is going smoothly. Their food court even offered sooo many options and and a lot of the time the dairy free options were located in a different place away from majority of the food. Definitely a cruise line I recommend if traveling with food allergies!”

10. MSC Cruises
“MSC is the first cruise I have ever been on, and I was super wary as a person with SEVERE allergies!! The staff was so so helpful, and they made my meals separate from my allergens. I was able to have almost anything on the boat, and the food was SO DELICIOUS!! I was so happy I could be properly accommodated!! I would 100% recommend to anyone with severe food allergies.”
