The Mayfair Chippy
“Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The kitchen has dedicated gluten-free space and excellent protocols. The staff took the time to let me know which condiments would be safe as well. Highly recommend!”

Din Tai Fung Covent Garden
“This is one of my family’s favorite restaurants—the food is always delicious, and they are great with allergies! All the servers are knowledgeable about the menu and the first thing they ask is if there are any allergies/dietary restrictions. The server even asked if cross-contamination was an issue. The menu is well-labeled, too!”

Byron Hamburgers
“Seriously some of the best food allergy protocols we have seen anywhere in the world. Before we had even sat down, the ‘allergy champion’ asked if we had any food allergies. We were then handed a binder with 25 pages of food, all indexed across the Top 14 allergens and vegan, vegetarian, and garlic. We would dine here again, and seek out different locations. We recommend you try!”

Hobson’s Fish & Chips Charing Cross
“When in London last month, I had fish and chips at three different restaurants. This place was good, but my least favorite. That being said, I would have loved it if it were the only one I tried. Shared kitchen with dedicated prep space and fryer.”

Hard Rock Cafe
“There is a QR code at every table that links you to the allergen information for each menu item. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and sent our ticket with allergens listed. A manager came out to reconfirm the allergies and dishes prepared when they were served and every item (including drinks) had an allergy flag in it. I was very impressed by this location and had no idea the Hard Rock Cafe was so great with allergies!”

Browns Covent Garden
“Had a lovely dinner here! The staff were amazing with checking ingredients and making sure dishes were safe for us! The food was prepared in their own area and dishes accommodated to be prepared safely (sauces too!). Could not recommend this place enough.”

Fortnum & Mason
“I had high tea here when my family and I visited London, and it was fantastic. They were able to do all the mini sandwiches gluten-free and were very knowledgeable. Large selection! We had a blast. I would absolutely return.”

Mildreds Soho
“Delicious vegan food—super popular among all my non-vegan friends. They use a fair amount of nuts but can customize many things and are aware of allergies for sure!”

Côte Hay’s Galleria
“The online menu is labeled for Top 14. They also did a great job handling allergies beyond the Top 14. The staff carry tablets that list all the ingredients of each dish. They brought the food out for the kids with allergy labels on it. Both kids had steak and fries. One kid had broccoli. The other had salad. They had raspberry sorbet for dessert. Delicious food in a very safe environment. Made for a special night out along the Thames!”

Neat Burger
“We were able to have a burger, fries, and a vegan milkshake safely here despite our peanut, tree nut, and dairy allergies. My son said it tasted great and he’d love to go back!”

“Loved our meal here. It’s very elevated British/steakhouse food. They were so kind about allergies, and the restaurant is beautiful.”

Scott’s
“I had my birthday dinner here and they made it so special! It was definitely a busy place, so I made sure to reiterate my allergies because they served us bread that I was not able to eat—but I don’t eat bread at restaurants usually, so it was fine. Aside from that, the meal was great, and I even had sorbet for a birthday dessert.”

Nando’s St Christopher’s Place
“I also went to Nando’s for a dine-in experience with a friend during my stay in London. Before we even sat down, they asked if we had any allergies. I was hoping to order some chips, which she confirmed would be ok after looking at my allergy card.
She said to speak to the front counter when I wanted to order instead of using the QR code at the table. Looking at the menu, it also said to order at the till if you have any allergies so you could speak to a manager. When I ordered at the front, they added my allergies to the order so the chefs would know. The chips came out with an allergy flag on it, which was so reassuring to see. My friend also bought a bowl of chips, so seeing the flag to differentiate the meals was so great!”

Borough Market
“IThere were so many vendors at this market with allergy charts! I was able to find this Japanese rice bowl at a vendor called Pochi. It was delicious and since I only have a dairy allergy I could actually eat everything on their menu! Would definitely recommend! I also got this frozen spiked mint lemonade from shuk which was also amazing! Very busy place but had enough info at some booths to make me feel confident in finding food.”

Venchi Chocolate & Gelato Covent Garden
“All the allergens are clearly listed under each flavor. There were five fruit sorbet flavors that were vegan, but we went with Vegan Azteca Dark Chocolate Gelato which was one of the best non-dairy ice creams we’ve ever tasted!”
@cbuckley, who manages milk, egg, and coconut allergies

Gujarati Rasoi – Borough Market
“This is a takeaway Indian place in Borough Market, London. All made from homemade recipes, so they know exactly what’s in everything, and use very little dairy. Very yummy! I had some kind of chickpea with greens, and it was delightful!”
