The Greenwich Hotel

“We loved this hotel – tons of great safe places for us to eat in walking distance. They removed all snacks with nuts from the room. They upgraded us so our experience was not normal haha. Highly recommend!”

The Standard, High Line

“Great location, good service, and a beautiful view! Right in the middle of the Meatpacking District, the hotel had fantastic access to great restaurants and the Chelsea Market! I was able to safely order chocolate ice cream through the hotel’s room service. However, we did not have the chocolate chip cookies. They did not seem safe enough. (I believe there were other nuts in the dessert making area.) there was a restaurant/bar on the ground floor of the hotel, and I was able to safely eat their guacamole (which was REALLY good!). Unfortunately, the chips fried in canola oil were fried in the same fryer as nuts.”

“The restaurant at the Mark Hotel is amazing with food allergies! They asked about food allergies when we made the reservation and asked again when we got there, and the waiter was really good about helping us out.”

Ace Hotel New York

“Really cool hotel. Stayed here for a few days and it didn’t disappoint. There is a bar in the lobby with good happy hour specials and attached is Stumptown Coffee. The rooms have kind of a hipstery industrial vibe and you can’t go up the elevator unless you have a key which is great for safety. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.”

“The Edition Times Square was safe and quite amazing! The bars do serve nuts upon request. Bar tenders were responsive to washing hands and wearing gloves when serving my drinks and getting dish ware from other more safe locations.”

“Amazing experience! I booked my reservation over the phone and let them know we were traveling with celiac and tree nut allergies. When we arrived the woman at check-in without prompting said ‘I can see you have celiac and tree nut allergies – your mini bar has had all tree nuts removed.’ I never asked for this and thought it was so amazing.

I asked if the on-site restaurant could accommodate us and she said of course-we didn’t end up eating there because it’s NYC and sooo many other fun options, but nice to know it was an option.

The staff here is honestly the most amazing group of people I have ever come across- every single person. Location is amazing and a side bonus, this is where all of the NBA players stay so we got to see all of the 76ers, which makes me the coolest mom- for a couple of days anyway.”

“We went to NYC for my daughter’s 13th birthday. I had emailed the hotel in advance about my daughter’s allergy to see if they could do a safe room service breakfast. They were extremely responsive and asked all of the right questions. When we checked in, there was a giant piece of birthday cake in the room for my daughter that they had special ordered from By the Way Bakery — a local dairy and gluten-free bakery. We were absolutely floored – it was so special for her!”

“We stayed here for 5 days. I emailed the Manager prior to our trip and he was able to offer groceries if I needed them, a large refrigerator, and coffee maker. There are several places to eat within walking distance and a ton of 7-11s, Walgreens, and various markets.

Subway station is also very close and the neighborhood was safe

They offer free breakfast consisting of hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, etc. as well as boxed cereal and fresh fruit. They also offer all day fruit, coffee, cookies (Pepperidge Farm) and cheese, fruit, crackers, and wine 5-8pm.

The staff was very helpful and offered to get items from the back if we wanted them to avoid cross contamination from items put out for the general public.”

JW Marriott Essex House New York

“Fantastic place to stay right on the Park – easy walking to tons of cool stuff. I called ahead and asked for a fridge for our room and they were super accommodating – also asked for a microwave, they don’t offer those. The concierge was great at booking us in at restaurants I requested and clearly communicated with our spots that we were gluten and tree nut-free. And even suggested a great pizza place that would work for us that wasn’t on my radar, it ended up being one of our favorite spots. NOTE: The restaurant/bar in the hotel serves a bowl of nuts at your table at happy hour so you’ll want to head to that one early if you have tree nut allergy. We did do in-room dining at one point and they had a couple of great options that worked for us and and food was delicious. Staff is super super accommodating and helpful. Would 100% come back and stay here.”

“I stayed at the attached Hyatt overnight as we were going to see a show. My pre-show dinner was a fail as my Nima found gluten and we wandered in here at 11PM just hoping I could eat something safely. I can’t say enough good things. Our server went and triple checked with the chef what was safe and what wasn’t and I had the most amazing honey siracha fries (Nima approved). Our brunch the next day had to be scrapped when we couldn’t get downtown because of a parade. We got here at lunchtime and I didn’t know what to eat. My adorable server, who was so knowledgeable and helpful, just looked at me and said ‘What do you normally eat for lunch? We can make you that.’ And they did. They made me an off-menu salad with ingredients I chose ,with salmon and safe dressing. Hyatts are usually great, but this was head and shoulders above the rest.”
