DAY 1


Hotel: Marly Camps Bay

“Gorgeous hotel that is really centrally located to a lot of cafes and restaurants. The rooftop cafe and pool have stunning views of the ocean and Lionshead Peak. The menu didn’t have a ton of options, but I was able to piece together some dishes with modifications. Always a great spot for a glass of rose!”

Dinner: Zenzero

“Had a solid first-night dinner here. The waiter was super knowledgeable about gluten allergies and helped me navigate the menu. They confirmed the dishes with the kitchen, and I felt very safe. The branzino was delicious.”


DAY 2


Breakfast: La Belle by Kove

“Cute upstairs cafe with beautiful views of the ocean. I loved their lattes and saw on the menu they had a couple gluten-free options as well.”

Lunch: Baptiste Rooftop Pool, Bar & Lounge

“Rooftop of the Marly Hotel with gorgeous views. Not a ton of options, but was able to piece together a dish or two before our tour for the day.”

Dinner: Potluck Club

“Wonderful, intimate restaurant at the top of an old biscuit mill. Our waitress was so helpful and wrote down a whole new menu of dishes that could be gluten-free. They’re served tapas style for sharing. The entire meal was wonderful from start to finish!”

Drinks: Cause & Effect

“An amazing place for a unique cocktail! The menu is so intricate and thorough, spanning every flavor profile imaginable. Many of the drinks come out with an impressive set up, definitely worth an afternoon drink!”

DAY 3


Lunch: Boschendal Winery

“Stopped here for lunch on our winery tour and had a lovely meal! The property is gorgeous, and the food is very fresh. Farm-to-table style.”

Dinner: Plant

“Stumbled on this place as it was right next to my hotel and was pleased to see many gluten-free marked dishes. Very casual take-out vibe, but the food was really good!”

Drinks: Oldenburg Vineyard

“This tasting room and vineyard is straight out of a movie! We stopped here during our wine tour in Stellenbosh and it was an incredible experience. The sommelier that led us through our tasting by was wonderful and they had delicious cheese and olives to snack on with the wine. An absolute must visit if in the area!”

DAY 4


Lunch: Truth Coffee

“Such a cool experience! If you like coffee, this is a must-visit. They take the art of coffee very seriously and walk you through various flavor profiles and ways to enjoy it, while staying in themed character. They also have amazing gluten-free bread and the Eggs Benedict was delicious!”

Dinner: La Colombe

“The most elevated and unique dining experience of my life. Even though it was a set tasting menu, they fully accommodated my allergy with no complaints. I just reached out beforehand to confirm and they were aware and prepared when I arrived. The restaurant is also absolutely beautiful and the dishes were works of art! Highly recommend arriving early to explore the property a bit.”

DAY 5


Lunch: Chef’s Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic

“The most stunning gem of a restaurant! Tucked down into a bay, the views and experience were incredible. It’s a set tasting menu, but I confirmed they could accommodate my allergy over email, and they were prepared and did so with ease. Highly recommend.”

Dinner: Kloof Street House

“One of the most eclectic restaurants in the city. Expect a scene and an energetic crowd. Lots of meat and seafood dishes, although our waitress wasn’t the most knowledgeable about allergies.”

Coffee Shop: Espresso Lab

“Cute little coffee shop inside the old biscuit mill.”

DAY 6-8


Hotel + Lunch: Mhondoro Safari Lodge & Villa

“I cannot rave about this lodge and experience enough. Highly recommend for any person, couple or family wanting to do a safari. The meals were gourmet and they went above and beyond to cater to my allergy. The entire staff is so kind and helpful. I was blown away. The lodge is beautiful and the whole experience was incredible.”


DAY 9


Hotel: Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita

“Four Seasons properties are always really allergy-friendly and this was no exception. There’s 6 restaurants on the property and most had multi-allergy marked menus from gluten to dairy to nuts. The resort is huge and beautiful. We went for our honeymoon and it was wonderful.”

Dinner: Lazy Fish

“Fresh fish and dishes right on the sand! A great option for a casual meal at the Four Seasons resort. Mostly everything was gluten-free due to it being very fresh and mostly seafood”


DAY 10


Dinner: Chatkar

“This is the Indian restaurant on the Four Seasons resort. It is beautiful and quiet. They have a well-marked menu and we had an array of delicious and safe dishes. Highly recommend.”

DAY 11


Lunch: Micho Resto

“A nice option to enjoy local cuisine. Most of the curry dishes are gluten-free.”

Dinner: Aquapazza by Marco Garfagnini

“Had such a lovely meal here with beautiful views of the Four Seasons resort. The staff was helpful and I had a delicious meal with gluten-free bread and gluten-free spaghetti.”

DAY 12


Lunch: Bambou

“This is the main breakfast and lunch restaurant at the Four Seasons resort. The staff was always helpful, and they have gluten-free bread and pastry options! I was able to eat here easily multiple times.”

Dinner: Umi.Zaka

“This is the Asian restaurant on the four seasons property and we had a fabulous meal. The menu was one of the most well-marked menus I have ever seen with most allergens clearly noted.”

Drinks: Blu’Zil

“Beautiful cocktail bar at the four seasons resort. Perfect for a pre or post-dinner drink!”
