Gluten-Free Sicily, Italy Top Picks
Hi, I’m Maura. I recently spent my birthday exploring Sicily with my boyfriend, and it quickly became one of our favorite trips. With just seven days, we focused on the east side of the island, staying in Taormina, Zafferana Etnea, and Ortigia near Siracusa. As someone with celiac disease, I was blown away by how accommodating Sicily is for gluten-free travelers. Eating well felt easy, thoughtful, and genuinely enjoyable. I shared all of these experiences on the Spokin app and pulled them into this guide to make planning easier. One standout was Chiodo in Ortigia, where I had black garlic pasta and a passionfruit tiramisu, which I still think about. If you are visiting Sicily, I highly recommend spending a day in the Etna region for a wine tasting and lunch to experience the island’s food and wine culture.
