“Nuts are labeled on the menu, aren’t many, but still informed the waiter of allergy. The charcuterie board has pistachio salami in it which wasn’t listed. There were also nuts on another item that wasn’t listed, so definitely ask and don’t just rely on the allergen code. We shared many plates. Otherwise I did feel safe eating here and our waiter was super helpful in double checking what we wanted.”

“They said there’s a risk of cross-contamination, but there didn’t seem to be nuts on the menu. The menu also changes frequently and their online menu seemed different than their in house menu.”

“Have an allergy listing on the website and don’t have any nuts and also had allergen posting on the wall (similar to what something like Wendy’s allergen menu has posted on their website). Great spot for a quick lunch.”

“Turkish Mediterranean restaurant. Have allergy code on menu and said that should be accurate. Didn’t speak great English but seems to be safe. Didn’t have a lot of nuts but the pesto was marked as having nuts. Got calamari as an appetizer and waiter said that wouldn’t be an issue. Also had good drinks.”

“Cute little cafe we stopped at outside Blarney Castle. All allergens are on their menu. The only nuts on the menu I could see were in the form of nutella with their breakfast. They have many sandwich/soup/pizza options which were perfect for lunch.”

“While there were peanuts in a few items on the menu, including items I wouldn’t have expected, the staff was familiar with food allergies and let the kitchen know to prepare my food avoiding cross-contact. I loved my meal too!”

“When I was told that this chocolate shop was nut-free, I had that immediate sense like, what’s the catch?? What other allergens are they putting in there. Even when I realised it was only 2 ingredients I still had to go there to be sure and talk to the owner. When I got there it was incredible- So it is a chocolate factory in the back and cafe in the front. The chocolate is only made with cane sugar and cocoa beans. Unfortunately the cafe is exactly like any other in the sense that they use almond milk and have baked goods (not made in house) that have allergens. I opted for a black coffee with milk on the side and I had some chocolate I bought. My mum had the hot chocolate with cinnamon and chilli and said it was wonderful with a kick. He said he cleans the milk nozzle all the time, but I didn’t feel comfortable. I went into the back and saw how they made the chocolate and the process. It was amazing. The cafe is gorgeous, cozy and lit up like Christmas. This will be a regular for me in Cork, and the chocolate is SOOO delicious. You can do a chocolate making workshop with your job or friends, and you can bring your own booze- wine! How amazing. I will be doing this.”
