ALABAMA

stix.png

Stix

Location: Spanish Fort, Alabama

“We are huge fans of Stix, and have been for years now! They have always been great to prepare my order, plain chicken with steamed rice and veggies (no butter or sauce), and I have never had an issue! The staff has always been kind and patient. The dish I get has always been delicious! Although the restaurant does prepare sushi and other items containing my allergens, they’ve always assured me mine would be prepared separately which we love. Love it!”

China Pasta House

Location: Tucson, Arizona

“Delicious food and great price! The staff is very understanding and is family run, so it just feels like I’m eating food that has been made with care and love. The staff is helpful with ingredients and dishes and their menu lays out most ingredients in their dishes as well. Only thing to watch out for is that there is a slight language barrier with certain things (it helps that I speak some Mandarin), but others in the restaurant are very helpful and can assist you in translating.”

C.I. Chu’s Mongolian BBQ

Location: Tucson, Arizona

“This restaurant was GREAT for my allergies, but definitely not a good choice if you have a sesame allergy! C.I. Chu’s is completely nut and dairy free! Even the sesame bread has no dairy or butter added. This place is BOMB and worth every penny. It’s a make your own bowl set up, so you grab a bowl and add your noodles, toppings, and sauce. Then you hand it to the cooks and they sauté it up! Delicious food and a fun little spot in Tucson.”

B1g7wvpv4w.png

YC’s Mongolian Grill

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

“Upfront: they do have peanuts and sesame seeds that are cooked so if you are air sensitive it may not be the best for you. However their allergen protocol is amazing. We put our own food in the bowl for them to cook on the grill. I order the Coconut Amino Acids instead of any of their sauces. The Coconut Amino Acids is always in its original container from the store so I know what’s in it. They give you an allergy plaque to let the cooks know. The cooks clean the grill 3 times and change out their cooking utensils. They cook it in front of you with only water and the Coconut Aminos.”

Toss Noodle Bar

Location: Berkeley, California

“This place is WONDERFUL. You choose your noodle, meat and your style and they give you an amazing stir fry that is super delicious and all around amazing. I would always have the flat rice noodles, the Chinese wok-toss, and chicken. They were always able to make sure it was safe for my nut allergy and I ate there safely many times. They do have a good amount of nuts on the menu though (satay, Thai-wok toss and curry), and shellfish too, so I was always wary and had fairly detailed allergy conversations while ordering.”

Tai San Restaurant

Sunda.png

Sunda

Location: Chicago, Illinois

“This place was amazing! Wow. This is an Asian restaurant, typically off limits for us but we saw a few reviews on Spokin and felt comfortable giving it a try. The waiter emphasized how seriously they take food allergies and showed me a sheet that he carries with allergens noted by dish. He took so much care and time and the place was jammed and busy but he honestly made us feel like we were the only ones there. We ordered A LOT because it all sounded so good, we couldn’t believe how careful they were, they even asked if cross contact was a problem (yes, for sure for us) and seemed so capable — and for us, Asian food pretty much is off limits and ironically is our daughter’s favorite. It was perfect and also a super high energy, swank and fun spot!”

Jingzun Peking Duck Restaurant

Location: Chaoyang, Beijing, China

“I chose to eat vegetarian here to make things easier for them and because many things were marinated in soy sauce, but I’m sure I could have tried to order some meat if I really wanted to. Dairy and nuts were not big issues here. My main concern was hidden soy sauce, so I stayed away from all brown sauces. That being said everything here was delicious, not overly salty, and I felt safe eating. Their eggplant was amazing!”

“Always got the steamed pork dumplings (xiaolongbao)! Lots of shellfish on the menu and the featured dessert the last time I went there was a peanut soup, so I avoided everything but the dumplings. They were incredible though and I highly recommend going to Din Tai Fung if you happen to be in Singapore!”
