Location: Spanish Fort, Alabama

“We are huge fans of Stix, and have been for years now! They have always been great to prepare my order, plain chicken with steamed rice and veggies (no butter or sauce), and I have never had an issue! The staff has always been kind and patient. The dish I get has always been delicious! Although the restaurant does prepare sushi and other items containing my allergens, they’ve always assured me mine would be prepared separately which we love. Love it!”

Jade Palace

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

“Staff was super helpful in getting allergens out of dishes and recommending dishes to eat. Awesome food!”

@nxm2001, who manages a peanut allergy

China Pasta House

Location: Tucson, Arizona

“Delicious food and great price! The staff is very understanding and is family run, so it just feels like I’m eating food that has been made with care and love. The staff is helpful with ingredients and dishes and their menu lays out most ingredients in their dishes as well. Only thing to watch out for is that there is a slight language barrier with certain things (it helps that I speak some Mandarin), but others in the restaurant are very helpful and can assist you in translating.”

@toriwong, who manages peanut, tree nut and milk allergies

C.I. Chu’s Mongolian BBQ

Location: Tucson, Arizona

“This restaurant was GREAT for my allergies, but definitely not a good choice if you have a sesame allergy! C.I. Chu’s is completely nut and dairy free! Even the sesame bread has no dairy or butter added. This place is BOMB and worth every penny. It’s a make your own bowl set up, so you grab a bowl and add your noodles, toppings, and sauce. Then you hand it to the cooks and they sauté it up! Delicious food and a fun little spot in Tucson.”

@toriwong, who manages peanut, tree nut and milk allergies

George Yang’s Chinese Cuisine

@lbedwell, who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

“Hidden gem! Usually we would avoid an Asian themed restaurant for our type of allergies. The owner, John, and his waitstaff are knowledgeable and helpful. We are able to get the kids “Popcorn Chicken” with edamame and steamed broccoli.”

@noosh, who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, fish, shellfish, and sesame allergies

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

“We have dined here a few times and they are consistently good with allergies. When ordering, they always ask if sesame is okay, which I love because they are being super careful. They do have nuts on the menu, but can be avoided. Great Japanese-Mexican fusion food with awesome service!”

@lbedwell, who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

Tea Light Cafe

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

“Always have a positive experience with this place! I have not checked if there are nuts/other allergens present in the kitchen, but the pho broth and add ins are nut free.”

@serenesafe, who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, and sesame allergies

YC’s Mongolian Grill

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

“Upfront: they do have peanuts and sesame seeds that are cooked so if you are air sensitive it may not be the best for you. However their allergen protocol is amazing. We put our own food in the bowl for them to cook on the grill. I order the Coconut Amino Acids instead of any of their sauces. The Coconut Amino Acids is always in its original container from the store so I know what’s in it. They give you an allergy plaque to let the cooks know. The cooks clean the grill 3 times and change out their cooking utensils. They cook it in front of you with only water and the Coconut Aminos.”

@noosh, who manages peanut, tree nut, milk, fish, shellfish, and sesame allergies

@scristol, who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, wheat, seed, vegetable, fruit, and legume allergies

Toss Noodle Bar

Location: Berkeley, California

“This place is WONDERFUL. You choose your noodle, meat and your style and they give you an amazing stir fry that is super delicious and all around amazing. I would always have the flat rice noodles, the Chinese wok-toss, and chicken. They were always able to make sure it was safe for my nut allergy and I ate there safely many times. They do have a good amount of nuts on the menu though (satay, Thai-wok toss and curry), and shellfish too, so I was always wary and had fairly detailed allergy conversations while ordering.”

@scristol, who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, wheat, seed, vegetable, fruit, and legume allergies

Tai San Restaurant

Location: Fresno, California

“I used to order from here all the time back in college! I would get the chicken fried rice, pork buns, and wonton soup (the no-shellfish one). Since my college days I have developed a pea allergy, so I cannot speak for how safe fried rice would be anymore. However, I would note my nut allergy while ordering and was always safe!”

@scristol, who manages peanut, tree nut, shellfish, wheat, seed, vegetable, fruit, and legume allergies

Local Poke

Location: Pleasanton, California

“I’ve had this poke multiple times and always been safe! The owner is often there, and he always reassures me they do not use peanuts. There are macadamia nuts that can be added at the end. There are only two items containing nuts: a pad Thai that has a peanut sauce and peanuts and a sushi roll that has macadamia nuts. The waiter placed the nut allergy on our entire order to be super safe. Excellent and no issues!”

@gabbylevinson, who manages peanut, tree nut, and peach allergies

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

“Even though this restaurant is known for ramen, my favorite dish is their cheezus! Its corn baked with TONS of gooey mozzarella with a side of bread for dipping. If you’re gluten free, the corn is good on its own! With ramen, egg is normally added so when my brother goes we just ask them not to put it in. Their ramen menu even has a vegan option.”

@rachfleisch, who manages peanut and tree nut allergies

Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

“The best hibachi steakhouse place in my opinion! I usually go in big groups so it helps to get our own stovetop. When I mention my shellfish/seafood allergy they have no problem cooking my order before cooking anyone else’s on the stovetop. If we don’t get our own, they’ll make mine in the back just to be safer!”

@aliu, who manages a Celiac-gluten allergy

Location: Chicago, Illinois

“This place was amazing! Wow. This is an Asian restaurant, typically off limits for us but we saw a few reviews on Spokin and felt comfortable giving it a try. The waiter emphasized how seriously they take food allergies and showed me a sheet that he carries with allergens noted by dish. He took so much care and time and the place was jammed and busy but he honestly made us feel like we were the only ones there. We ordered A LOT because it all sounded so good, we couldn’t believe how careful they were, they even asked if cross contact was a problem (yes, for sure for us) and seemed so capable — and for us, Asian food pretty much is off limits and ironically is our daughter’s favorite. It was perfect and also a super high energy, swank and fun spot!”

@isabel48, who manages peanut, tree nut, seeds, legumes, and mango allergies

Poke Burrito Park Ridge / Xun Bistro

Location: Park Ridge, Illinois

“I was wary to eat here but they were super accommodating and made sure my food was safe! I have been reassured by the kitchen that they can prepare the food separately, once I have told them I have an allergy. My favorite is their Thai Curry — it’s so good! I tried sushi for the first time recently, and my waitress went to check and make sure my order could be made gluten free. Always check with the staff first, but they have good protocols for people with gluten intolerance/Celiac disease!”

My mom spoke with waitstaff in Cantonese and they explained that the fried gluten free dim sum options shared a fryer. They do have gluten free Tamari sauce (San-J) to use. The only nut product on the menu were almond cookies. It was cool eating here because our family has been eating there for a long time.
