LIFE Kanda-Izumicho Store
Location: Chiyoda City, Japan
“Amazing selection! Some wheat-free sushi including cucumber rolls. The salmon nigiri did not contain wheat!”

Don Quijote Ginza Honkan
Location: Chuo City, Japan
“Donki (the store) had a lot of candy options, and therefore, some allergen-free options! I got a crunchy green apple HI-CHEW here. Also lots of snack options.”

Fish Market Tsukiji Outer Market
Location: Chuo City, Japan
“I got the viral fatty tuna here as well as Wagyu steak with potatoes. Ginkado side street market had soy milk, so I had a sweet matcha there. Extremely busy place! I asked the Wagyu place about seasonings, and they said for the Wagyu they only use olive oil, salt, and pepper. Best steak I have ever had! The Wagyu place and fatty tuna are right next to each other.”

ENGAWA1441
Location: Fujikawaguchiko, Japan
“I got to eat delicious steak and rice! They also served me some roast beef. I was really surprised at this meal, especially since I brought my own food thinking I wasn’t going to be able to eat here. The staff seemed to understand allergies very well and explained all the ingredients to me, very simply. I asked if they cook the steak on the same surface as shellfish, and they said no. And beautiful views of Mount Fuji!”

Sushiro
Location: Shinjuku City, Japan
“All-you-can-eat sushi! It was really good and high-quality fish; I only ate the salmon nigiri and cucumber rolls. I didn’t ask about allergy protocols though, so it was definitely risky, but I did not have any issues!”

Tokyo Disneyland
Location: Urayasu, Japan
“Disneyland was also very friendly! We didn’t spend as much time here, so not too sure about the variety of options. But I had the same vegetable curry again! And it was so good.”

Tokyo DisneySea
Location: Urayasu, Japan
“Tokyo DisneySea was amazing! I had lots of good food! Their vegetable curry is top 9 allergen-free, and it was so filling. I could also have both flavors of their ice bars, boba, and spicy chicken legs. They took allergies very seriously and allowed me to read ingredients lists on their iPads. They are in Japanese, though, so I had to scan with my phone to translate to English.”

Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum
Location: Yokohama, Japan
“This is where we had our cooking class, and they made me vegan and gluten-free ramen! They gave me gloves and a mask to wear because there was lots of wheat flour literally everywhere. I really felt safe though because of their precautions! It was the best ramen I have ever had, and it turns out you can buy them online! So I have!”

KFMCENTER (Korea Food Grand Master Center)
Location: Jongno District, South Korea
“They made me homemade gluten-free gochujang! Fresh, simple ingredients, so it was very easy to make it allergy-free. They had egg available for the bibimbap, but I left it out, of course! This is also where we had our Kimbap making class with Sempio. Very accommodating; allergy table and gloves provided. They gave me whole different toppings to put inside, such as cucumbers and carrots. I could have their boxed kimchi and gochujang (the Sempio one is the kind I use at home; it’s gluten-free!)

COW&PIG Myeongdong
Location: Jung District, South Korea
“Unmarinated meats! So perfect! And pickled radish. This was delicious. The staff helped me lots!”

ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong
Location: Jung District, South Korea
“I had the BEST breakfasts at our hotel in Seoul! I actually think about it every day. There was so much variety, and food allergies were listed on the cards. I asked what was in the pork because I didn’t know what a certain symbol was, and the staff was very helpful; it turns out it was just red wine. Everything was very clean! The coffee machine does come out, though, the same spout as dairy milks.”

Myeong-dong
Location: Jung-gu, South Korea
“Had tanghulu on the street here! You can watch them make it!”
