Hotel Garni Glockenstuhl
Location: Mayrhofen, Austria
“We spent a wonderful weekend at Hotel Garni while exploring the Austrian Alps. We wanted accommodations with a kitchen while still enjoying the charm of a traditional inn with breakfast.
The setting is absolutely magical and peaceful, surrounded by mountain views, with llamas grazing just outside the property.
Our FA daugther could enjoy a hard-boiled egg and juice for breakfast while we supplemented with yogurt and granola we had brought for her. It was so nice to all sit down together and enjoy the complimentary breakfast as a family.
Because of the remote proximity and somewhat of a language barrier at a few restaurants (even with our Equal Eats cards!) we opted not to dine out- there is a hospital close by but it is more of urgent care type facility. The hotel is within walking distance of the town and several well stocked grocery stores. Just be aware that shops close on Sundays and early on Saturdays. We missed the grocery store before it closed and had planned to cook dinner so our backup box of mac and cheese came in handy. The owner was so kind and even lent us milk and butter to prepare it.
The kitchen in our rental was small but mighty! This was such a warm, welcoming place, and we can’t wait to return someday.”

ABACCO’S STEAKHOUSE München
Location: München, Germany
“After experiencing some communication challenges at previous restaurants in Munich, we chose this steakhouse for its simple menu. Steak is usually a safe option for us and our girls had never been to a steak house.
We reviewed the menu online, and our English-speaking server confirmed that the fries were cooked in olive oil and the steak was free of our daughter’s allergens.
The highlight was cooking the steak on our own hot stones at the table. It made for a delicious, interactive meal! The unlimited fries were a big hit with our girls, and it was the perfect way to spend our last night in Munich.”

Hofbräuhaus München
Location: München, Germany
“We chose this restaurant based on recommendations and appreciated that they offer a detailed allergen menu. As always, we confirmed it with the staff when we arrived. Unfortunately, our server wasn’t very knowledgeable about allergens. When we showed him our Equal Eats card, he simply directed us to the QR code for the allergen menu and said he couldn’t provide any additional guidance. He did confirm that the menu matched the one available online but we double checked.
Our daughter, who avoids peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame, safely enjoyed the schnitzel and pretzel and was thrilled to try traditional German food. It’s a fun, touristy spot that’s worth visiting and it didn’t seem like there were any nuts or limited on the menu, but we didn’t find much allergen awareness beyond the printed allergen menu.”

L’Osteria München Künstlerhaus
Location: München, Germany
“L’Osteria is an Italian chain in Munich with a detailed online allergen menu. We made reservations in advance and reviewed the menu before dining. Our daughter safely enjoyed the Margherita pizza, but communication about her allergies was challenging. Even with our Equal Eats card in German, our server mistakenly thought she was allergic to all wheat instead of sesame in breads. He checked with the chef several times, which we appreciated, but it still left us feeling a bit uneasy. Overall, it was a fun meal, but we wish the staff had greater allergy knowledge beyond referring us to the allergen menu.”

Wembley Stadium
Location: London, United Kingdom
“We visited here for the first time to see Harry Styles. Before we went, we checked the stadium’s website, which clearly outlined the bag policy and other restrictions, including food and drinks. We brought a small clear crossbody bag that we usually take to concerts, but we learned that the bag doesn’t actually have to be clear, it just needs to meet the size requirements.
We carried my daughter’s EpiPens, inhaler, and a snack bar in case she got hungry since we weren’t planning to buy food. Security inspected our bag but was friendly and we had no issues.
If you’re concerned though about bringing medications or additional food, Wembley offers a medical exemption form that you can complete in advance.
There’s also a food court just across the street within walking distance. We ate at Pizza Express before the concert which was super convenient. It does get busy on concert nights, so I’d recommend allowing a little extra time, but the staff was well organized and the service was surprisingly quick.”

Waitrose & Partners
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Waitrose & Partners is a popular grocery chain in the UK. They were well stocked and we were able to purchase ingredients to make safe dinners and breakfasts at our AirBnb!”

Côte Covent Garden
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Cote is a special occasion type of restaurant. It is a chain within London— we went to the Covent Garden location since it was across the street from where Mamma Mia was playing and we were going to the show. Based on @theallergytable’s recommendation on Spokin we made reservations and they were very on top of it. The manager emailed us back and cc’ed his entire team saying they could accommodate us. Their allergen menu is very detailed and helpful— they list out each ingredient for each meal. We decided that my sister would have the steak frites. We were with a party of 9 and it was a busy Friday night, but when we first got there the host acknowledged our allergies from the reservation. When the waiter came to take our order, we gave him the equal eats card and he also knew about the allergy, even to the point of that he wanted to take my sister’s order last so he would not mess it up. When the food came out, it was flagged which made us feel very safe. The food was delicious and the fries were some of the best I’ve ever had— highly recommend!!”

Mucci’s
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Mucci’s is a fun Italian restaurant in Chelsea. We emailed the restaurant ahead of time— Andrea (the manager) was amazing. We told her we wanted to eat the margherita pizza and she emailed us right away and confirmed the type of flour used and the type of oil. She was so nice that she even gave us her cell phone number so we could reach out if we had any other questions. When we got to the restaurant, the service was a little bit slow but the staff was nice and when we gave them our equal eats card they took it back to the kitchen to confirm everything was okay. The food was delicious and it was the best pizza I had while in London!”

Zizzi
Location: London, United Kingdom
“We found this recommendation from Spokin. When we walked in, the server immediately asked about our allergies. We showed her our equal eats card and she noted every allergen in her app (including flours and nut oils) and confirmed that the margherita pizza was safe. The pizza was yummy and it was a nice air conditioned restaurant to cool off in after a hot day of sightseeing!”

Dean Street Townhouse
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Dean Street is part of the Soho House group, and when I contacted them by email, they confirmed that they do not use any nuts or sesame in the kitchen. We’ve also enjoyed dining at their sister restaurant Cecconi’s, another Soho House restaurant, in Barcelona and LOVED our experience eating there.
My daughter was able to safely enjoy the house made sourdough bread and fish and chips, such a rare treat for someone with a sesame allergy! Everything was wonderful, from the attentive service and allergy awareness to the delicious food. It gave us such peace of mind knowing that our allergens were not present.
The only downside was that we were too full for dessert! Next time, we’ll be sure to save room and try dessert or come back for afternoon tea.”

Soho Hobson’s Fish & Chips
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Hobson’s has a helpful allergen menu which we referred to before we went. We tried to email them prior to eating there but didn’t get a response. There was a miscommunication about our allergies with the waitress but we gave her our equal eats card she double checked it with the chef— she confirmed that the chips were battered in rice flour and fried in rapeseed oil which was safe for our family. The fish and chips were very good!”

Pizza Express
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Pizza express was a staple for us in London! We ate at 3 different locations — Camden/primrose hill, Oxford, and Chelsea. Each time we ate there, the staff asked about allergies right away and wrote them down after showing them our Equal Eats allergen card. At the Oxford location they were so careful about our allergies that the waitress even double checked the oil with the chef. Their pizza is delicious and I highly recommend!”

Caldesi In Marylebone – Italian Restaurant
Location: London, United Kingdom
“Caldesi was amazing with our allergies! It is an upscale/fine dining restaurant. We emailed them ahead of time since it is better to make a reservation when eating there. We picked out what we wanted to eat and they told us that they could accommodate us but asked that we acknowledge other allergens in their restaurant and that they can’t guarantee their food is 100% allergy-free. Despite this, we still felt safe eating there. The menu has limited nuts that are found in some of their salads and dessert. When we first walked in, the host remembered from our reservation that my sister had allergies. The waiter also knew about our allergies— he took our equal eats card to the chef to double check. They were able to make my sister a simple marinara spaghetti and even brought out her meal first. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend for a special occasion!”

M&S Simply Food
Location: London, United Kingdom
“M&S was a great grocery store in London! They had many ingredients and yogurts we bought for dinner and breakfast— and their percy pigs were a staple on our trip to London! There are no nuts or sesame in them and we loved them so much that we brought many bags back with us to the states.”
