Ireland Peanut, Tree Nut, Milk, and Shellfish-Free Travel Itinerary

Hi! I’m Vivian, I manage dairy, tree nut, peanut, and shellfish allergies, and I went to Ireland for 3 days. A highlight of my trip was visiting the Guinness Storehouse and being able to take a tour. My favorite restaurant I ate at was Milano, where I was able to get a dairy-free cheese pizza!! Follow me on Spokin @viviancrabbe and Instagram @vivian.crabbee.

DAY 1

Dinner: Dolan’s Pub and Restaurant

“Stumbled across this restaurant when trying to figure out where to eat in Limerick, I saw that they had a few vegan options and decided to check it out. Their menu was very helpful as the allergens were listed below each dish listed by a numbering code. I ordered the Fish and Chips because, which isn’t typically something I am able to order, but was surprised to find it was dairy free. As someone who typically sticks to burgers, I really enjoyed trying something different.“

DAY 2

Dinner: Milano Blanchardstown

“I saw this recommendation on Spokin and decided to try it out. I am so happy I came across this restaurant, as it was the best dairy-free cheese I have ever had! I am really picky when it comes to dairy-free cheese but this was amazing. They have multiple vegan options, and you can get a full vegan menu upon request. A very allergy friendly place and they have multiple locations in Dublin!“

Snack: Murphy’s Ice Cream

“I love a good sweet treat and am always on the hunt for places with dairy free options. I came across Murphy’s ice cream when walking around Galway and decided to give it a try. They had raspberry and mango sorbet on the menu and they were also labeled as ‘dairy free.’ I tried both flavors and they were amazing! There is also a location in Dublin.“

Sightseeing: Quay Street

“We took a day trip to Galway and walked around Quay Street. We grabbed dinner at Milano and followed up with ice cream!”

DAY 3

Dinner: Guinness Store House 1837

“I went and visited the Guinness Storehouse during my trip to Ireland. We decided to go ahead and eat at one of the restaurants they had inside. The menu was a little limited. I was able to get a burger with no cheese, the waitress let me know there was no dairy when serving it to me—which is something I like because it lets me know the server understood my allergy, and my food will be free of any allergens! During the tour in the Storehouse, there is a tasting room with signs saying to alert the staff of any allergens. They were overall really on top of being aware of allergens which made me feel safe!”

Dessert: Scoop

“I always need a sweet treat to end the night and I came across this Ice Cream Shop called ‘scoops.’ Walking in, I was expecting the dairy-free options to be gelato, but I was surprised to see that they had a vegan vanilla flavor. Along with that, I got strawberry gelato. The vanilla ice cream was different from other ones I’ve tried, but it was still super delicious!”

Sightseeing: Guinness StoreHouse Experience

“During our tour we were able to do a small tasting, get our faces printed onto a Guinness, and go up to the sky bar to see an overview of the city. Afterward, we decided to grab a bite to eat inside the Storehouse at the restaurant 1837! After dinner, we walked around Dublin and stopped for some ice cream to end the night!”
