Twin Falls Maui Farm Stand
Location: Haiku, Hawaii
“No nuts at this farm stand outside Twin Falls! They have smoothies (coconut water, sugar, and fruit), which were delicious! They do have homemade banana bread, which is free of nuts (but wouldn’t risk for cross-contamination). Felt safe with smoothies, and you can get coconut water here too!”

Monkeypod Kitchen – Waikiki
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
“Very allergy-aware upscale restaurant in Hawaii! I ate here safely. There are a lot of nuts on the menu (peanuts as well as tree nuts) and not a ton of gluten-free options, so I did feel limited. The staff was very helpful in sharing what I could and could not get, and helped me customize dishes. I ended up getting the macadamia nut crusted fish but just grilled (so nuts), which came with rice and veggies. I wish there were more options I could have had, but still a safe meal, and the restaurant is beautiful!”

Hawaiian Aroma Caffe At Beachcomber Waikiki
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
“Safely had coffee here a few times! Staff were very helpful with allergens, and I felt comfortable. I didn’t eat here, but they have breakfast food as well.”

Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
“Loved staying here! There are a ton of restaurants within walking distance, and rooms have a small kitchen (big fridge and freezer and pots and pans for cooking). Would definitely stay here again!”

Dave’s Ice Cream At The Ilikai
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
“Peanut-free ice cream shop and shaved ice! I got shaved ice to be safe, as there are a number of flavors that have tree nuts and tree nuts as ice cream toppings. Staff were pretty allergy aware though!”

Menehune Grille
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
“No peanuts on the menu and options for gluten-free pancakes for breakfast! I got a Caesar salad with grilled fish. Almost all the proteins have soy sauce and aren’t gluten-free, so fish was the only safe option. Staff were very helpful and educated about allergies! There were a few tree nuts, but not a ton, so I felt pretty comfortable.”

Nalu’s South Shore Grill
Location: Kihei, Hawaii
“Had a safe meal here! No peanuts, but there are a number of dishes with tree nuts. Staff were helpful with allergies and questions about cross-contamination. I got a gluten-free burger bun, which was good! I don’t think they were the most allergy aware, especially about gluten cross-contamination (ex; fries are in the same fryer and I said that doesn’t work, but they still brought me them on a separate plate), but overall felt comfortable. There are a number of drinks that contain macadamia nuts at the bar for those who are allergic. They are labeled on the menu clearly, but I wanted to call out.”

Maui Ono Donuts
Location: Kihei, Hawaii
“Fun donut spot in Maui! They have regular and gluten-free donuts. The only nuts are macadamia nuts as a topping (which I’m not allergic to). They occasionally have limited edition donut flavors, so they may have other nuts that pop up, but there weren’t any there when I visited aside from the macadamia nuts.”

Paia Fish Market South Side
Location: Kihei, Hawaii
“100% nut-free fish restaurant with a few locations in Maui! I love their fish tacos-this was one of the best meals on the island! They have many gluten-free options as well. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Maui!”

Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate
Location: Lahaina, Hawaii
“This chocolate factory is 100% nut-free! They have multiple chocolate bars and flavors with a clear allergen statement and FAQ on their website. Such a fun find!”

Duke’s Beach House Maui
Location: Lahaina, Hawaii
“Duke’s has lots of nuts on the menu (they are known for their macadamia nuts), but I have eaten safely here multiple times and at different locations! This location in Maui is beautiful, and it was a delicious meal! The chef came out and spoke to me, and explained he would make all components of the dish himself in a separate area of the kitchen. I got steak, mashed potatoes, and cooked veggies, and the chef came back to check in and explain he would make the mashed potatoes from scratch, specifically for me to avoid any cross-contamination that may have occurred from the already cooked pot in the kitchen. When my meal came out, it was made by another chef, but he reassured me that this was the meal cooked separately for the guest with food allergies.
Overall, the waitstaff at Duke’s in Maui were extremely accommodating and reassuring about their allergy practices! I have received the same amazing treatment at the Duke’s located in Huntington Beach on two separate occasions. Would definitely return for another amazing dinner!”
