CURRENT ALLERGENS
Anton’s
“Had a great safe meal here! Wasn’t sure if I would be able to navigate the menu with all my allergies but was able to order an arugula salad with plain grilled chicken and it was great!”
Wild
“The whole place is 100% gluten free! Their pizza bases are vegan, gluten free, and nut free — plus, they have nut free vegan cheese! Such an easy menu to navigate and the food is delicious! Definitely will be going back to try something new.
They also have nut free pesto on the menu!! My favorite so far is the bbq chicken pizza with Daiya cheese. “
Whipped Urban Dessert Lab
“I finally made it to Urban Dessert Lab yesterday to try their oat-based chocolate and vanilla soft serve! Here are my thoughts:
– the ice cream was SO good and creamy
– their menu had the allergens clearly labeled for every item
– there was a written allergen warning in the actual ice cream shop, but the staff member was extremely kind and diligent so I still felt safe and comfortable
– they change gloves in between every order
– they’ll accommodate your allergies by using toppings from a separate area if needed (I decided to play it safe and skip the toppings anyways)
– they only have chocolate and vanilla oat-based soft serve (so you don’t have to worry about anything in regards to the ice cream). I will definitely go back next time I’m in the area!”
Kimbap Lab
“100% gluten-free and nut-free. Clear allergen table posted online!”
Blue Ribbon Sushi
“They prepared a platter free of all my allergens (including items not even listed on the menu). Was so good and I was definitely comfortable trying everything on the plate.”
Bondi Sushi
“Bondi is one of the few places where I can eat the crispy rice! Their shishito peppers are also amazing. So far I’ve been to two different locations and both were so accommodating of my allergies. They were willing to modify dishes to make them safe for me and the staff were kind and knowledgeable! Bondi has gluten-free soy sauce available too!”
The Perry Club by Pasta By Hudson
“They have a nut free charcuterie board with nut free pesto! I enjoyed this SO much before my dairy allergy. Love that it’s labeled as nut free directly on the menu.”
Nami Nori Williamsburg
“100% nut-free and gluten free. Restaurant staff are so great about allergies and make sure you feel safe!”
Joey Bats Cafe
“Their vegan nata is nut free and gluten free! So delicious, and kept in a separate case. “
Sushi Lab Rooftop
“This is such a fun sushi spot if you’re visiting NYC! Gorgeous rooftop near Times Square. I’ve been multiple times and they always accommodate my list of allergies with ease. The food is also unbeatable and gorgeous!”
Funny Face Bakery
“The BEST cookie I’ve had since I became allergic to dairy, eggs, and wheat. Funny Face is also a nut-free facility!”
Chobani SoHo
“Plenty of prepackaged Chobani products available for purchase and I loved knowing the exact type of oat milk that would be in my coffee!”
Nadas
“Love that they’re all gluten free and nut free. Their vegan options are delicious!”
PRIOR ALLERGENS
Dudley’s
“Staff were able to clearly tell me which options were safe for my allergies”
Fairway Market of 74th Street
“This store carries all of my go-to allergen safe brands, and has introduced me to a lot of new ones! Great place to get nut free prepackaged baked goods. “
Nami Nori West Village
“Completely nut free! Staff was extremely educated about allergies. Our waiter even asked if I had a stone fruit allergy after letting him know certain fruits I avoid.”
La Pecora Bianca UWS
“I informed the staff of all my allergies and there were no issues with the dishes I ordered! It was one of the easiest meals I’ve had recently. They were knowledgeable about each dish’s ingredients and very comfortable handling allergies. I had the rigatoni with burrata and chicken paillard! Definitely will continue to be a go-to restaurant choice.”
Little Owl
“I’ve been here twice now and both times were so easy! The staff seamlessly takes note of the allergens and makes you feel safe. I called ahead to ensure the dishes I were planning to order were okay and they noted my allergies on my reservation. The drinks are also fantastic!”
Sushi Yasaka
“Sushi Yasaka is consistently amazing. My receipt always has my allergies printed on it and when I order online, I’m able to directly type in my allergies. I’ve safely eaten here and so has my sister, who is additionally allergic to soy and sesame. The staff are always so attentive to our allergies and we love coming here! It’s my go-to takeout place (plus the prices are better than anywhere else)!”
The Donut Pub
“I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re coming to NYC, you must stop here! I get their vegan donuts because their regular donuts are made with egg, and they’re still fantastic! They also have gluten free donuts, but they do not have donuts that are both gf and vegan (so for gluten AND dairy free individuals I’m not sure what options are available). However, the whole facility is NUT-FREE which I LOVE.”
Osteria Cotta
“I had the penne alla vodka and their 5 cheese appetizer. No modifications needed to be made for my allergies (egg + nuts) and the staff had a clear method for inputting allergies on orders. Our waitress was so kind and double checked everything, but also knew about each dish right away. She was clearly educated on the menu’s allergens. Food and atmosphere were amazing!!! I’ll be back!”
Frame Coffee
“The staff are always so kind and accommodating of my allergies. They are willing to sanitize anything to make me feel more comfortable with my order. Great place to do work, too (they have plenty of seating, WiFi, and a restroom).”
Pasta Louise Restaurant
“The whole restaurant is nut-free and they have tons of vegan options! I was able to order an appetizer, entree, and dessert without any changes to the dishes!! Amazing food and such a comfortable dining experience!”
Modern Bread and Bagel
“One of my favorite spots because this whole place is nut free!! I love their double chocolate zucchini bread and vegan superseed bagel. If you have a sesame allergy, I would say to be careful about coming here because they do have sesame bagels and seeds near all the bagels. Also, their regular bagels have egg in them, so if you have an egg allergy like me then stick to the vegan bagel. “
Shakespeare & Co
“I don’t get any food here because of potential cross contamination but I love their coffee! Great bookstore and perfect study atmosphere with tables and outlets. My go-to order here is iced coffee with oat milk.”
Flowers On The Park
“Love their cold brew! Staff is always so friendly and willing to answer any of my questions or let me read labels. Beautiful place to sit and get work done since it mainly operates as a flower shop.”
The Grey Dog
“I ordered the Breakfast Bowl with the vegan Zero Eggs as a substitute. Absolutely loved it and will be coming back. There were so many safe options for me and even a “Vegan Friendly” sticker on their front door. This spot has great decor and is a good choice for dining out with friends because they have something for everyone on the menu. It’s always so exciting when restaurants like this make it easy to dine with allergies!”
Ladybird
“I haven’t been here yet but hope to soon! They are 100% vegan and nut free with soy-free and gluten-free options labeled on their menu. Definitely recommend looking at their menu online! Can’t wait to try this out.”
Morton Williams
“Amazing selection of Abe’s products and Vermont Nut Free!”
TAP NYC | 100% Gluten-Free Sandwiches & Acai Bowls | Upper West Side
“Nut-free pesto and 100% gluten-free menu!”
