Arizona

dedicated. a gluten free bakery & coffee shop
Location: Tucson, Arizona
“We’ve had two wonderful experiences with dedicated gluten-free bakery for birthday cupcakes and cake! The owner is so sweet and reassuring — they sanitize their kitchen each night, and each morning, if they have any allergy orders for that day, they re-sanitize the kitchen, prep those orders first, then separate them from the kitchen. Also very delicious. Our son’s allergies are eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and garbanzo beans, and they’re able to accommodate everything”

Cake Girl
Location: Los Angeles, California
“I highly recommend this allergy-friendly bakery in Los Angeles! It is located inside a pharmacy, which I thought was so cute and had a nostalgic vibe. Everything is clearly egg-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, and gluten-free. This is truly a gem! The staff is so kind and helpful. I got a chocolate birthday cake for my birthday. After having an allergic reaction earlier that week to something from a different place, I was feeling super nervous about trying a new bakery, but they assured me that it was safe and were more than happy to go over ingredients with me. I felt very safe here and even got a delicious iced matcha latte (oat milk is the default for their drinks), plus a cupcake sampler! HIGHLY recommend this place! ”

Inklings
Location: Pleasanton, California
“This is a super cute & trendy coffee shop in Downtown Pleasanton! It’s a super popular study spot, and they host a lot of community events here! I have never gotten coffee here (they have regular milk, oat, almond, and coconut) because the coffee area is pretty small. They also have pastries, but most have nuts. BUT they now carry baked goods from Sweet Freedom Bakeshop! Sweet Freedom is an online-order-only bakery that makes goods free from peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, soy, and gluten. Note: They do use some sprinkles that contain soy lecithin & honey in one cupcake (so not 100% ethically vegan), but the owner’s family has celiac, nut, and egg allergies, so they are totally allergy-aware! On their website, they even list that if you have any additional allergies, need to sub an ingredient, or need anything adjusted, call them, and they will make a safe treat for you! They have made cakes & cupcakes for my birthdays the last several years, and they are FABULOUS! The treats at Inklings are wrapped and have their own display case to avoid cross-contact with other pastries! Totally hope they get a storefront soon!”

“By The Way Bakery is my all-time favorite allergy-friendly bakery. I live in Connecticut, so I visit their Greenwich shop, but they are also located in New York. They are gluten-free and dairy-free, and their baked products are amazing! I’ve been ordering my birthday cakes from them for years, and they never disappoint! They are always willing to answer all my questions, and this year they made me a custom birthday cake that was so beautiful and delicious! I have too many favorites to pick one, but I make sure I visit there during the Christmas/Hanukkah season to get their jelly donuts! All I can say is WOW!”

Sassy Mama Sweets
Location: Southington, Connecticut
“This is a regular bakery in our town, and they are AMAZING! Alexis and Lori are absolutely wonderful people who give back to the community and are VERY accommodating for our family with our ANA tree nut allergy. Alexis, one of the owners, is also severely allergic to tree nuts and understands our need for safe baked goods. We have ordered cakes from them since they opened in 2015 and have never had a problem. They know us well, as we have ordered our family’s birthday, Communion, Confirmation, and graduation cakes. We ALWAYS specify a severe tree nut allergy even though they know us and they note it on our order. They offer gluten-free baked goods and can accommodate many dietary and health restrictions. ”

Argentis
Location: Alpharetta, Georgia
“One of the BEST bakeries in Georgia! I have been going to this bakery for about three years now, and I have never had a bad experience. The bakery has a notebook that breaks down and lists all the ingredients in their baked goods. One of my favorite things about the bakery is that they have food items that you can also order and take home, AND they do customized cakes. I have been ordering my birthday cake from them for the past two years, and they always come out looking just as I imagined them to be. 100% recommending this bakery as the staff is incredible and inclusive!”

Milk Bar
Location: New York, New York
“I ordered a gluten-free cake for my husband’s birthday, and it was fantastic! Protocols for gluten-free cakes are on their website and sound celiac-safe to me (separate bakery).
I called to learn about their protocols around nuts, and the staff was not very helpful. But I also sent an email and got a more educated reply. They have nuts in the gluten-free facility, but clean everything in between batches. Be cautious with severe nut allergies, especially as they have a gluten-free peanut pie too. Peanuts are okay for me, so I went ahead and ordered the cake. Didn’t have any issues, and it tasted fantastic!”
