“This is a super cute & trendy coffee shop in Downtown Pleasanton! It’s a super popular study spot, and they host a lot of community events here! I have never gotten coffee here (they have regular milk, oat, almond, and coconut) because the coffee area is pretty small. They also have pastries, but most have nuts. BUT they now carry baked goods from Sweet Freedom Bakeshop! Sweet Freedom is an online-order-only bakery that makes goods free from peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, soy, and gluten. Note: They do use some sprinkles that contain soy lecithin & honey in one cupcake (so not 100% ethically vegan), but the owner’s family has celiac, nut, and egg allergies, so they are totally allergy-aware! On their website, they even list that if you have any additional allergies, need to sub an ingredient, or need anything adjusted, call them, and they will make a safe treat for you! They have made cakes & cupcakes for my birthdays the last several years, and they are FABULOUS! The treats at Inklings are wrapped and have their own display case to avoid cross-contact with other pastries! Totally hope they get a storefront soon!”

“Nuflours is my favorite dedicated gluten-free bakery in Seattle. They never use peanuts and use only select tree nuts. They make their items in shifts, so I only eat their products if I know they haven’t made anything with hazelnuts that day! I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls, danishes, and quiches. They are also great for birthday cakes: you can order and customize in advance, and they will be aware of your food allergies.”

“Have to be careful of nuts here, but staff is always educated, products that contain nuts are often labeled, and since it’s vegan, no worries of dairy or eggs. They have a great assortment of products (including vegan doughnuts! First doughnut my son ever had), and everything is of excellent quality. “My friends got me a cake with hazelnuts for my birthday. It was delicious! Most raw desserts I’ve had before are gritty and have a strong coconut flavor, but not this cake! It had a mousse inside that was creamy and not overly sweet. Everything is free of gluten, dairy, soy, and eggs. They even have smoothies and ice cream that are almond milk-based. Their website lists ingredients of their menu items so you can see what is safe for you before you order.”
