“This movie theater tends to be fairly clean (and I would know from wiping down the seats to be safe!) They have a handful of safe items like Junior Mints. We’ve never had an issue bringing in our own snacks, though I don’t exactly announce it!”

Marco Movies

“This is the only movie theatre on Marco Island and I love it! Instead of the traditional movie theatre seating, it has booths where you are served with a full menu (lunch or dinner). The menu is great for my sister and mom because it states which items are gluten free! They are accommodating with milk allergies if you ask. Overall a great movie theatre and fun experience!”

“They have Junior Mints which I have found are safe, as well as other candies that specifically say on their label that they don’t have peanuts. In the theater, I’ve never had a problem with a dirty seat or seat with wrappers on it. Overall I feel safe with getting popcorn and a drink consistently.”

“MJR Waterford now has reclining chairs with a very large walk area between the rows. This makes a very nice buffer zone if someone is eating a nut-containing concession snack. The chairs are leather and so easy to wipe down. We really like going to the movies here!! They also have quite a few nut-free candy options too!”

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Brooklyn

“I always have a good time when seeing movies at The Alamo! I like to get popcorn without butter and never worry about cross contact. You order by writing exactly what you want on a notecard and servers come around to collect them. I always write “severe dairy allergy” on mine and have never had any issues.”

“AMC has a full allergen list on their website for all of their concessions that are not prepackaged. They also have a huge variety of prepackaged snacks. Their popcorn is popped in canola oil. I have found the allergy list super helpful.”

“We went to the movies today. I called beforehand to ask what kind of oil they use for the popcorn. They use sunflower oil which is wonderful. I spoke to the manager who allowed me to go on my own with Clorox wipes to wipe down everything. They allowed me to bring in a book bag filled with his snacks so that he could also enjoy the movie.”

“Never realized movie theater popcorn is dairy free. They season it with flavacol so the popcorn there is dairy free. Megaplex actually had a dairy free “butter” to pump on the popcorn. First time my dairy allergic child had popcorn at the movies! Wish I would have known sooner. Just double check with your theater!”
