Park Hyatt Siem Reap
Location: Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia
“As soon as my family told the staff of our dietary restrictions (me-gluten-free, my sister-vegan), the chef came out and explained all the dishes he could prepare for us. He made me gluten-free pancakes or French toast each morning for breakfast and at night prepared anything I wanted on the menu gluten-free. My sister was also told what was safe for her to eat. Overall, they were great with accommodating us and were very well educated in food allergies.”

“We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during my son’s competition. The restaurant manager, chef and staff went above and beyond to make sure my son’s food was safe. English was okay, not great but we had allergy translation card that helped a lot! They cooked his food separately, and packed them during competition days. They also checked on my son everyday, and all the food served for Team dinner was clearly labeled with ingredients and allergens. We had a great stay! Great staff!”

“Prior to arriving, we notified the hotel that I was gluten-free. When we were brought to our room the first day, they gave us gluten-free snacks for the week. Every time we ate meals at the hotel, the chef or manager would come out and helped me go through the menu telling me what they could prepare gluten-free that night. They also gave me gluten-free bread at breakfast. This hotel made it very easy to travel around Asia.”

“Amazing hotel! It is absolutely stunning, but also amazing with allergies! They took every single precaution possible, and whenever I ordered they knew my allergy. I spoke with the manager when checking in and she brought the chef out to speak with me. I felt so safe and the food was delish. Stuck with plain foods, but it was still great!”

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Singapore Novena by IHG

“When we checked in we mentioned my allergy to reception (as brekky is included), and the staff member ran over to the kitchen to check with the chef directly. He came back and confirmed no peanut oil is used, but some dishes do have peanut so check with the staff at breakfast.
Breakfast is a buffet ,but each item has its own spoon/tongs. Mentioned my allergy to staff again, and they walked me around the buffet pointing out which foods were safe (a lot!) and which ones I must avoid. Staff then checked in with me throughout breakfast to check I was ok.
Highly recommend!”

“Staff here were lovely! This was our splurge for my birthday, and apparently my mum mentioned it in our booking. Arrived to the room with a cake waiting on the table for us which they triple confirmed was peanut-free.
Lots of dining options nearby. We didn’t make use of them but Dining Alley had many different cuisines and restaurants (McDonalds, Sushi, etc.).
Highly recommend breakfast in the wild too—buffet style but pretty quiet. Many safe options. I mentioned it to staff as they let us in, who then went to check with the chef. The chef walked around with the hostess double checking ingredients of everything, and then when it was time for us to go in the hostess walked around with me and pointed out what I could eat (a surprising amount!) and what to avoid. The animal interactions are also super fun for all ages.”

Village Hotel Sentosa
Location: Southern Islands, Singapore
“Note: We did not stay here, just had breakfast here (Outpost and Village can do brekky at either).
After our below average breakfast at Outpost we asked for a refund but they were unable to, so they said we could go to Village for breakfast instead. And wow! The service was fantastic. As mentioned in other reviews, we mentioned my peanut allergy in our booking, and reception at Outpost passed this along to the team at Village.
When we arrived, we gave our room number, and they confirmed peanut allergy, then called the manager to come walk me through what was safe and what was not (very little surprisingly).
The manager asked me questions well before I could ask her (Am I ok with ‘may contain’, is it just peanuts or do I avoid all nuts, etc.). She told me I could ask her or the chefs (who she pointed out) if I had any other questions. They do not use peanut oil in their kitchen, but some dishes did contain peanuts or nuts or had them as toppings (e.g. the congee).
Our second morning was much the same, but a different manager on duty. It was his first day poor guy, so he asked what the manager yesterday had done. Once I explained he rushed into the kitchen and walked around with the chef. Then he came back over and confirmed that it was largely the same as yesterday.
The food (overall, not just ‘safe’) included: bacon (cooked separately), an egg station (stationed chef will cook however you’d like), cereal, fresh fruit, pancakes, hash-browns, yoghurt, congee, fried noodles, children’s buffet (waffles, pancakes, toppings, minion chips), etc.
Overall, still quite expensive but much better than the breakfast at The Outpost.”

“Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Beautiful and clean resort, with fabulous food options at the hotel. To say the staff is helpful is an understatement. We were literally given a designated person who checked up on us twice a day to make sure we had everything we needed, to make food reservations, even as far as making sure our room smelled a certain way. Would go back in a heartbeat.”

Sunprime Kamala Beach

“This was the first hotel of the trip. It has an excellent location next to the beach and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel is also adult only. I liked the fact there was a minimart on site as well as 7/11 just a short walk away. Phuket is very popular for tourists and one of the busier places to visit in Thailand, so there are a lot of hospitals and medical facilities within a short distance which is something I often worry about when traveling.
My favorite part about this hotel was the breakfast buffet. All dishes were highlighted with the allergens which is the first time I’ve seen this in Asia. Plus, the food was really good!”

Blue Tao Beach Hotel – Koh Tao
Location: Koh Tao, Thailand
“This hotel was located centrally on Sairee Beach, so it was a good distance to walk along the beach and to the supermarket and a short drive from the pier to get the ferry. The hotel has a small restaurant where breakfast is included. There were four breakfast options, but I could only eat one of them which was the American breakfast. It was okay, and I would have been tempted to eat elsewhere but they were helpful with my allergies. I showed my allergy card each morning, and they reminded the chef about my allergies. I felt grateful for this. I found there was a lack of allergy knowledge around Koh Tao compared to other Thai islands, so I didn’t want to take any risks. I only noticed one hotel on the island with a few clinics. I should have looked into this beforehand because this scared me a bit. Overall, the stay in Koh Tao was brilliant, I loved it there. The hotel was very convenient, but I would not recommend staying in Koh Tao with severe allergies.”
