We got beef goulash and Wiener schnitzel, as well as a special goat cheese appetizer that tasted great. The waiters completely understood my allergy, and they recommended that I not have the desserts because they weren’t sure if peanuts were cross-contaminated in them.”

“This is the city’s oldest bakery, and it has been open since the 12th century! Everything is freshly made, and they mostly serve breads. There are no peanuts here! It was definitely worth making a visit.”

“The food here was also great, and I was able to have dessert here for the first time, which was exciting! The Sachertorte chocolate cake was safe for me to eat, and it was yummy! I also got turkey schnitzel, which was one of my favorite meals of the entire trip! We also did a shared table here and met new people, which was super fun!”

“This was a hidden gem a little further out in Salzburg. We were hiking today and stopped at Wolgangsee on the way back, and found this little spot for food. It’s right on the lake and has extremely fast service. The waitress wasn’t concerned about peanuts being in anything. We got hot dogs filled with cheese, potato pancakes with a garlic creamy sauce, and a cheeseburger. The food here tasted so fresh! I highly recommend it!”

“Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of the food, but this restaurant had no peanuts on the menu, as I can recall, and there are many different options for drinks and Austrian breakfast to get. We got traditional Austrian breakfast, which came with bread, jam, and eggs. It definitely felt a bit more touristy and overpriced here, but it’s good if you’re in a bind.”

“I felt completely safe eating here! There were no peanuts on the dinner menu, and the staff were reassuring about no nuts. We got a local soup with crepe scraps in it to start, along with schnitzel bites. We also got Weiner schnitzel for the main. This is a very hyped up popular restaurant and I don’t think it was worth how good people say it is, unfortunately. We had a ton of other great meals that were more local and tasted better, but I felt safe eating here for sure!”

“This restaurant is fantastic! The waiter was assuring about no peanuts, and the food was truly delicious. It’s Mediterranean food, if you need a break from Austrian food. We got a hummus chicken shawarma plate and chicken fingers with fries and a mango mayo dipping sauce, which was tasty!”

“We went here many times throughout our trip to Vienna. It is very reliable and delicious, and a famous bakery in Austria. We got cappuccinos and a traditional Austrian dish that comes with a cheese filling, as well as a doughnut filled with jam. They didn’t use peanuts here, at least when I was there, but there are other nuts like pistachios and Nutella.”

“This was an amazing Greek restaurant if you need to switch up your cuisine, if you are having too much Austrian food when you’re there. The food was delicious and fresh, and there were no peanuts, so I wasn’t worried. We got the moussaka and a chicken souvlaki plate, and the tzaziki was amazing.”

“This is a wonderful restaurant, and I would highly recommend going. It felt very local! I wouldn’t be worried about peanuts here because we didn’t see any on the menu. We got a sausage dish with vegetables and a traditional Austrian salad with breaded chicken.”

“This restaurant was good, but not amazing! It seemed pretty touristy but the food was good if you need a reliable place. I got the Austrian version of basically Mac n cheese and we got a meat goulash dish. In terms of peanuts, the waiter was very understanding and assuring of no peanuts. If you have an extra night you can go here, but it isn’t necessary. It’s in a cellar underground though, which was fun!”
