Universal Studios Orlando Allergy-Friendly Travel Itinerary

Orlando1

Hi, y’all! My name is Jenna Urben, and I’m a 29 year old food blogger from Dallas, TX. I developed an egg allergy in high school and lactose intolerance in college. My husband and I love to travel and recently became annual passholders at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida! In addition to experiencing the rides, attractions, and shows, I really enjoy trying new allergy friendly and plant based food throughout the parks. During our most recent 3-day trip, I was beyond impressed with the options and can’t wait to share them with you. Some of my favorite spots included TODAY Cafe, inspired by the long-running morning show, and Mythos, a full-service, award-winning restaurant. DAY 1

Travel: Dallas Love Field Airport

Dallas Love Field (DAL) has several quick service and sit down restaurants. If you’re in a rush, swing by Moe’s Southwest Grill for a burrito bowl or build your own salad. If you have a little extra time, Cantina Laredo is delicious.

Travel: Southwest Arlines

I love flying Southwest, especially for quick trips! They offer pretzels and a snack mix, but I recommend bringing your own safe snacks.

Hotel: Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando

Lovely hotel with a couple restaurants serving allergy-friendly meals, a grab and go store with safe snacks, and spacious rooms with a mini fridge.

Lunch: TODAY Cafe

Delicious, allergy-friendly options for breakfast and lunch! The menu is clearly marked and the cashier was knowledgeable about ingredients. The I Heart Vegan Sandwich was tasty and filling! I’d love to try the Overnight Oats with almond milk next time I visit.

Dinner: Finnegan’s Bar & Grill

Fantastic dinner spot at Universal Studios Florida! The Vegan Sausage Wellington has plant-based Field Roast sausage wrapped in a pastry with vegetables, cabbage, and dijonnaise. Very filling and delicious! Doesn’t taste like “theme park food”; I was impressed with the quality of food and proactive waitstaff.

Venue: Universal Studios

Great allergy-friendly options! I’m so impressed with the new dining options in the parks. You can tell they’re making strides to update menus to be more inclusive. I highly recommend TODAY Cafe and Finnegan’s Bar + Grill.

DAY 2

Lunch: Three Broomsticks

The waitstaff was willing to check on several items in the kitchen. They offer a new vegan Mushroom Pie with jackfruit and mushrooms. It’s very good and filling!

Dinner: Mythos at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

The waitstaff was attentive, helpful, and checked in with the kitchen several times. Menu is clearly marked and dishes are delicious!

Venue: Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Several allergy-friendly and vegan options throughout the park! I love Mythos, Three Broomsticks, and the refillable popcorn buckets.

DAY 3

Snack: Voodoo Doughnut

The vegan donuts are amazing! There’s several options available and mobile ordering makes it easy to choose which flavors you want.

Venue: Universal CityWalk Orlando

Awesome restaurants with allergy friendly options! Stop by Voodoo Doughnuts for vegan sweets, Bob Marley’s for dinner, Moe’s for quick service, and more. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Review menus online or in their app to mobile order. Kitchen staff is also available to answer questions and go over allergy menus.

Travel: Orlando International Airport

There are several dining options and more on the way! Chipotle is my current go-to.
