Jacqueline’s Milk-Free New York City Favorites

Hi! I’m Jacqueline and I’m so excited to share my favorite New York City spots! For classic NYC food, I love 2nd Ave Deli to get matzah ball soup. One of my must-go-to restaurants is Candle and I recommend ordering the burrito bowl and polenta fries, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! For sightseeing and activities, my favorites include walking around and people watching, if it’s nice out going to Central Park, and catching a comedy show at night. Urban Vegan Kitchen

“Vegan place with such cool vibes. They have an awesome basement. Really good food. I’ve had mostly brunch items but looking forward to trying more”

Soda Club

“DAIRY FREE PASTA MENU!!! I was so excited to come here and do the pasta/wine tasting menu- it was absolutely delicious. Soda Club is vegan, though I always ask about ingredients and potential cross contamination, and the waitstaff was open and knowledgeable!”

Candle

Candle

“THE BEST!!! Candle is back and as wonderful as ever!! This vegan restaurant is perfect and the owner/head chef is an amazing human who cares about allergies. The staff is educated and kind and the vibe is wonderful. The food is high quality. I’ve had so many special occasions here including birthdays and even my wedding rehearsal dinner!”

Malka

Malka

“Kosher restaurant with no dairy on site! The hummus and iconic potato stuffed schnitzel is incredible!!!! The desserts are made off premises as per my last visit so I avoided just in case, but highly recommend coming here!”

2nd Ave Deli

2nd Ave Deli

“Kosher deli (no dairy) that has the best soup!! NYC staple.”

Screamer’s Pizzeria

“Vegan pizza in Brooklyn. My favorite!! No dairy in the place which is the best part. The buffalo cauliflower and white pie are my favorites. Have gotten to have pizza during covid by taking out from here as well. This is one of my favorite places ever!! *also they sell Vegan Treats cannolis so you may get lucky and find a dairy-free cannoli for dessert”

Ladybird

“A trendy, upscale little fondue / tapas spot with no dairy?! I promise it’s true. This vegan spot is certainly not cheap but it’s WORTH IT. They serve tapas style dishes and fondue (both a dinner and dessert version). Located in the East Village and has a late night menu with discounted tapas and wine. This is my go to for special occasions and whenever I’m feeling fancy. ”

Coletta

Coletta

“Delicious Italian food that is plant based and the establishment is free of dairy! The waitstaff is always educated on their menu- even though the restaurant has no dairy I still ask questions regarding where products are made/cross contamination risk and have felt comfortable here! The food, especially the pizza, is delicious. Great ambiance for a special occasion or date night ”

PLANTA Queen

PLANTA Queen

“Planta is the best!!!! The restaurant and vibes are perfect, the drinks are delicious, the food is amazing and safe (100% dairy free AND they make dessert in house, including ice cream), and it’s always consistent. The waitstaff is so helpful in answering questions. Perfect place to go for dinner, date night, and to have a celebration. The spicy tuna roll is my all time favorite!”

Beyond Sushi

“MY FAVORITE-VEGAN SUSHI! Beyond Sushi has multiple locations across Manhattan, this one being their largest sit down location with a full dinner menu. My favorite dumplings ever are called ‘the badge’ and I recommend them highly. The waitstaff always answers my questions thoroughly. The menu is vibrant and unique and amazing.

*I’m not allergic to fish but I don’t eat fish and this is a great option for those who are allergic because the sushi is vegan aka made from veggies and everything but fish. ”

Jerrell’s BETR BRGR – SOHO

“The best plant based burgers & milkshakes!!!”

Orchard Grocer

“Cutest little vegan grocery store! They have a deli counter where you can order from a small menu. Best part is they have dairy free soft serve ice cream.”
