Laurel Hardware
“Laurel Hardware was absolutely amazing with my food allergies. I had my allergy card sitting on the table, and the waitress immediately noticed it and asked if I had food allergies. She was so proactive and knowledgeable right from the start. She walked me through the menu and happily double checked everything with the chef. She was incredibly informed about the ingredients and dishes and made sure there was no cross contact. They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, which is a major plus for me! The inside is a renovated hardware store and the outdoor patio is super pretty. Would definitely recommend.”

Dune
“Dune is a very casual spot with outdoor ordering and seating. They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, which is always a huge win for me. I love the falafel and the fries, and the staff is always happy to check ingredients and answer allergy questions. I feel really safe eating here.”

GRANVILLE
“Granville is one of my favorites. They have gluten-free buns and a dedicated gluten-free fryer. I love their burgers and fried brussels sprouts. The staff is always happy to answer questions and are super knowledgeable about allergies.”

Great White
“I can’t even count how many times I’ve been to Great White. It’s one of my favorite spots in LA because they’re so great with my allergies!
My go-to is the market chop salad with salmon, and their fries are a must since they have a dedicated gluten-free fryer. The staff is super knowledgeable about ingredients, always willing to answer my allergy questions, and make me feel really safe eating there.”

Girl & the Goat
“I’ve been to Girl & the Goat on a few occasions and it’s consistently great! I usually stick to very simple meals when I’m dining out, so this spot is a bit outside of my comfort zone.
But the staff is absolutely amazing. Every time, they’ve talked to the chef about my allergies and brought out a paper menu where they cross off anything I can’t have, note what I can have, and even write in substitutions.
The goat curry and vegan mango sticky rice pudding are two of my faves. Truly such an amazing dining experience.”

Kismet
“Kismet is such a great spot! The staff is super helpful with allergies. They crossed of any items on the menu I couldn’t have. They also noted which dishes I could have and what substitutions to make. I had the best lamb ribs and little gem salad.”

Katana LA
“I had an incredible dining experience at Katana, and I can’t recommend it enough!
From the moment I sat down, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my safety. My waiter created a separate tab for me, listing all my allergies (and even did the same for my friend with celiac). He was incredibly knowledgeable about ingredients and took extra steps, like bringing me a side of tamari since the regular soy sauce wasn’t safe without me having to ask.
The busers were fully informed about my allergies and made sure to bring my dishes directly to me, confirming they were the allergy-safe versions without me even having to ask. Even at the bar, they were happy to use a clean shaker to make my drink.
I’ve dined out a lot with allergies, and I’ve never felt so taken care of. A lot of restaurants could take notes. If you have food allergies and want an stress-free dining experience, Katana is the place to go!”

Perch
“I’ve been to Perch for brunch, dinner, and drinks, and I can happily say that they are very accommodating to allergies at all meals!
The waiters are very informed about allergies and cross contact. They are happy to answer allergy questions and tell you the ingredients in dishes. They’re also able to modify menu items.”

Sweetfin
“Sweetfin is one of my go-to takeout spots. Everything is gluten-free. I love the salmon avocado poke bowl and the guava lemonade. If you order delivery, you can note your allergies if you order through their app.”

Cake Girl
“Cake Girl is a great bakery in LA. It’s gluten-free and vegan. They list all of their ingredients on their website, which I always really appreciate. Their cupcakes are so good!”

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
“I recently discovered Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and I’m obsessed.
They’re always happy to answer allergy questions, and they can scoop from a new container with a clean scooper, which I really appreciate. I love that they have such fun dairy-free flavors, and a lot of them are also gluten-free. Some even have gluten-free cake pieces in them, which is so exciting.
I also love that some options don’t use oat, which is one of my allergens. It just makes it feel like there are actually a lot of flavors I can enjoy, which is the best feeling.”

Salt & Straw
“This is one of my go-to ice cream spots. The servers are always happy to read through the ice cream ingredients for me and answer all my questions. They offer an “allergy scoop” option, where they’ll get your ice cream from a fresh container in the back with a clean scooper. They usually have three dairy-free flavors year-round (one is sorbet), plus a seasonal dairy-free option that rotates each month. Their dairy-free ice creams are made with a coconut milk base.”

Erin McKenna’s LA
“Erin McKenna’s Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries in LA. It’s vegan and gluten-free, which makes it such a fun spot for me.
The staff is always happy to check ingredients, and they even have an ingredient binder, which I love. It’s honestly so exciting because I can have almost everything there, with the exception of a few items that contain oat.”
